Actually I am tinkering around with my own instance and wanted to know if I am doing something wrong.

Thanks for your answer. I think my question was misleading. I meant that the final post misses the image at all. And according to the metadata I can not imagine why. For example the link description is there.

I'm having an issue where a link I shared in my Lemmy instance does not resolve the preview image.

Link: https://www.gamepro.de/artikel/hello-kitty-island-adventure-switch-pc-release-meinung,3397967.html

I checked the page's metadata with this service: https://debug.iframely.com/?uri=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.gamepro.de%2Fartikel%2Fhello-kitty-island-adventure-switch-pc-release-meinung%2C3397967.html

At least for me everything looks like expected, but still Lemmy does not show the preview image.

Any insights would be appreciated!

I am evaluating if hosting a Lemmy instance fulfills my use case. If I share a link with Lemmy, it is really just that, I shared a link, right?! I noticed that in some cases Boost shows further content for this link. For example for a YouTube link it shows a thumbnail. But for other page like news pages it has no thumbnail or so ever. I double checked, if I share the same news article with for example my messenger of choice the preview is correct, means the meta data gets correctly resolved. Because I am new to Lemmy I would like to know which software is now responsible to resolve it. For example I had a NSFW gif page link which was perfectly resolved but others get not.

Every hint about it is appreciated. ๐Ÿ™
