The only conflicting factions I can think of are the Crimson Fleet and UC Navy, but even then you aren't going around telling everyone you are a pirate.

Why does everyone blame creation engine for everything they don't like? Unreal is even older and you don't see anyone bitching about it.
Doesn't look like it, you can either grab all the resources and use your ship or build workbenches on the outpost itself.
I love it, it took me a while to really get into it but it was well worth it.
My best suggestion would be to ignore the main story and follow side quests, that's the real meat of the game.
Exploration is a mixed bag, if you are expecting Skyrim where you can get lost going in any direction you are going to be disappointed. The planets are mostly empty but incredibly well made from a space simulation standpoint, I spent a while just traveling the solar system and taking pictures of cool places I found.

That's not very accurate, the current chancellor and Germany in general are very left-leaning outside the very catholic regions.
They cancelled a bunch of games like Paragon and Unreal tournament to feed the Fortnite machine, abandoned the main Fortnite mode they had already sold and then started funneling money at the epic store.
The epic store at this point has been such a huge loss, exclusivity deals alone are worth millions and not even those managed to get them a user base.
A company with Fortnite's and Unreal's income should not be struggling to make a profit.
They've been doing pretty much everything wrong except Unreal and that one time they got lucky with a failed-game-turned-BR-giant.
Imagine having 2 money printing machines and still being unable to come out with anything good.
The speed at which they are destroying Reddit is just impressive. Spez saw Musk taking a shit on Twitter on the daily and became inspired.
