Actually I can't argue against that. You are obviously correct.
I just believe that fruits are not as bad as it helps with variety in your diet and they are not just empty calories.

Maybe, kinda. You have to eat them in moderation like anything. They at least provide other useful nutrients.
In my opinion fruits are slightly more beneficial than bread, pasta or potatoes which do not contain as much sugar, but more of other carbs which are in my opinion not much better.
So I see your point, but I don't think they are as bad.
At least it sounds almost reasonable if the sugar comes from fruits. That's roughly the amount (25g sugar) you ingest when eating 2 apples.
Thank you for the interesting, but concerning answer.
Isn't the daily amount like 0 you need? So Infinity % for any added amount?
This is actually an honest question, because you can easily cover your daily needs with other carbs and even those are technically not necessarily as it can be metabolized by fat in your body, but no point in bending the truth here. The body needs sugar one way or the other, but none of them are processed sugars and should probably come from rice, potatoes or bread instead.
I don't really have that problem myself, but I fully agree anyway. It does not matter what your use case is. It is 2023, flash storage is cheap and we can get much more storage for any other device for a fraction of the cost. $100 is ridiculously overpriced.
Honestly by now I would have expected 1 TB to be the default, but somehow we got stuck with low internal storage for the past 10 years.
That's a difficult question to answer. My intuition tells me that it does not work, because 2 desktop sessions would fight with each other. The applications you export are managed by the local window manager therefore the concept of exporting a whole DE doesn't really make sense. I don't know the answer though and it's just my guess.
What the other answer proposed might be possible though. Take another tty and launch another X session there. It can even be another DE than your primary one. There you can have your own session with its own windows etc. I know for sure that this does work, but you might run into problems if you use Nvidia (at least it was the case a few years ago).
X11 forwarding can be amazingly fast and due to its nature the integration is amazing. I mean that's basically its whole purpose. If you can secure your network you can run it unencrypted for best results or over ssh if not.
If you need full desktop sharing VNC is probably the fastest of all solutions I tested. It's barely not fast enough for games, but otherwise it does a great job.
I know it is not really what is asked, but cron is a pain in the ass to handle and manage. I am not sure if it is officially deprecated yet, but I would migrate everything to systemd timers instead it is so much better. It provides configuration tools and proper integrated logging and troubleshooting tools.
Just create a service file of type oneshot which runs your backup script and a timer unit with the same base name. Set the timer to hourly, place both files into /etc/systemd/system, do a daemon-reload and enable the timer. You can see the status or journal for output and list-timers to see the schedule and wether or not it ran.
Usually if programs can run in a user context but don't work as some automated process it is either due to environment differences. Most importantly PATH which can be solved by using absolute paths for programs. Another very common problem is the systems MAC implantation although it happens more often with SEL. Still you might want to check your AppArmor configuration and (audit) logs.
If you want to stick with cron also make sure to read the mails (/var/mail/root by default), because most cron implementations dump their output/logs there.
I think not much value would be lost by defederating.
They are denying genocides, they are supporting regimes which are not compatible with LGBT+, they don't discuss in good faith, there is a lot of whataboutism. They want to dunk people and be right and not have their view challenged.
Unfortunately they have so radical ideas about it all (mostly US centric whataboutism as far as I can tell). They fall into fascist/authoritarian traps where they can't even recognize they are fighting against people like me or us. They dehumanize people.
I don't think their views are compatible with LGBT+ spaces and values even though they claim to be one while cheering for the people who would remove them from existence the first chance they would get.
Some people are moderate over there and that were the only pleasant interactions I had with them. I can't tell if the radicals are a loud minority or the majority. They poison the well though.
Even after all that said I don't know if defederation is the right choice. I mean they provide some good content and in the end they are a big community. On the other hand I have already blocked the instance using the Connect app and my experience improved a lot.
I think in summary they create a hostile space for all people. Even left leaning people are not safe due to their radicalized views and it is exhausting to have every thread derailed with some unrelated rant by them.
Why? The answer is known. You can easily proof it by contradiction. Therefore the halting problem is unsolvable.
This solution actually provides some good insight into other problems and wether or not they are solvable. It is useful, even though the negative result might seem disappointing.
I don't believe that you can even figure out half of the things yourself if you are determined. There is no way you can use it without looking up tutorials for even basic things.
I fully agree in case my precious comment wasn't clear. It is a mess!
Sorry, but aren't potatoes even worse than white bread and sugar regarding the glycemic index? According to google they have scores between 80 and 90 on average while sugar (sucrose) has a score of 68.
I guess starch is really bad. I wasn't aware it has such a high impact.
Don't get me wrong they are not terrible in a balanced diet, but I don't believe they have any real benefits either. Besides they are tasty which is honestly a good reason to like foods.
