Pretty sure this is an olive oil vs extra virgin olive oil issue. The latter can be heated to fry temps without denaturing into carcinogens.

Fwiw, they are slaves, the Constitution refers to them as such, and they can't truly consent to the labor when the alternative is to rot in prison conditions so deplorable they've been decried as inhumane by the UN and other international organizations.

What's so odd about those scenes is that the camera is far hornier than the actors. The crew is mostly very professional and chaste about decon, but the camera is leering at their bodies as they do it.
