Race had everything to do with it. Lady was repeatedly heard dropping the N word and calling the kids N-lets. She didn't like that black kids were playing in a field near her apt, or that black me were waiting for busses at the bus stop near her house.

This murder was the culmination of her ongoing racism, and bullying of the neighborhood children.

Her interrogation is available on YouTube and it's chilling.

I'm not putting a value judgemental on empathy, I'm just restating that those on the left have more, and those on the right have less. (Which, again, just looking at behaviour, surprises nobody. )

Though, too be fair, I do prefer to hang out with empathetic people.

I reference 2 articles higher up in the thread. Feel free to scroll up and read.

Like I said. Both sides suck. I could go down that same path and list all the atrocities the IDF and settlers have done. Because both sides suck ass. BUT there are a LOT more dead Palestinian kids than Israeli. I don't want my tax dollars going to support those violent bastards.

If you think the CBC and BBC are "very left wing" then you might be a biiiiit far to the right to be considered sane.

They're both slightly left (i.e. center-center-left) and importantly, highly factual.

Never said my side was righteous. I said that one of the main differences between the left and right is empathy. This isn't an opinion, it's peer reviewed fact.

It's bleeding obvious, even without the science.

Ya, I'm not talking about extremists. I'm talking about just normal everyday people.

Eh. Fits with what I see in politics, the folks voting for right winger, and my own experiences conversing with them IRL. I see no issue with making that assumption and then being pleasantly surprised the odd time it isn't true.

Maybe it's a North America thing, tho. It's quite possible that the euro flavor of right wing is a more empathetic group.

I didn't say they were "all bad." I said they lacked empathy and I wasn't interested in being friends with them.

Conservative and progressive brains are different.

And one of those differences is empathy. https://academic.oup.com/scan/article/18/1/nsad029/7175525

Black reports that every Nazi concentration camp maintained its own Hollerith-Abteilung (Hollerith Department), assigned with keeping tabs on inmates through use of IBM's punchcard technology.[2]: 351  In his book, Black charges that "without IBM's machinery, continuing upkeep and service, as well as the supply of punch cards, whether located on-site or off-site, Hitler's camps could have never managed the numbers they did."[2]: 352

I'm not sure that's true. One side has empathy. The other does not. I don't want to be friends with someone who doesn't have empathy.

Yup. Idiots incapable of compromise, so they get nothing.

Snapper saved my ass so hard last night! I've tried all the other major distros and TW is where I stayed.
