Yeah, same. Whenever I try out another distro I find myself having to work harder to get things to set up the way I want, compared to Endeavour. Having the AUR at your fingertips makes you spoiled, for sure.
I used UAD on my S21 and it's been fine. You can't actually uninstall the unwanted packages but at least you can disable them. Can't say I've noticed any particular improvement in performance, but it's nice to know that my phone isn't running a bunch of unnecessary services.
Be careful disabling Bixby if you intend to use features like Samsung Routines, though. I seem to recall doing that and breaking functionality, so I just went back and re-enabled it.
Thanks for the write up. I also looked into running Resolve but the lack of AAC/MP4 support was the kicker.
Funnily enough, my personal experience aligns with yours - Fedora and I just seem to fundamentally dislike each other. I've tried it several times, as it looks good on paper, but I've had significantly had more issues with it than I ever have with Arch/EndeavourOS.
Mint and Endeavour are pretty much the only distros I'll ever need, I've come to the conclusion.
It's funny that this article doesn't mention the one company that pretty much single handedly created the need for this legislation in the first place.
Nope, this is a common misconception. While they do appear to tolerate LGBTQ+ people more than other nations, Thai society is pretty conservative and is still behind most Western countries when it comes to gay marriage and laws to protect LGBTQ+ people.
Lol, I'm not saying that brickwalling the mix to achieve a certain effect isn't a thing, but at the extreme levels of compression and clipping apparent on that track, it's unlikely that a FLAC would sound even remotely different. Apparently the band agreed - in 2020 they issued a remaster which seems noticeably less crushed:
Incidentally, I saw Sunn O))) live once. I can still feel my bowels shake.
There's shittons of oil in Nigeria, and most of it is being siphoned off by multinational oil companies.
No need to invade if you can just get the corrupt government you're propping up to sell it to you cheap in the first place.
Killer samples do happen, sure but vorbis at Q9? I'm highly dubious. That track in particular just sounds badly recorded to begin with. If you have that same version in FLAC i would be interested to see some ABX test results or test it myself.
For archival purposes, though, I agree FLAC is the way to go.
Seriously? Fucking hell, that's depressing.
Yup, although that doesn't stop some weirdos out there claiming that CDs sound better than FLAC.
Don't forget digital music stores like Qobuz and www.bandcamp.com.
Artists get more money when you buy their music outright instead of stream it.
