I noticed this too. It can't be coincidence that he's not wearing a maga hat when breaking bad news

What's drip in this context?

Crumpets are normally not this big. I used this recipe, if you're interested https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ganHDnSz3yw

Its quite different from a pancake. It has more leavening and its the extra yeast that creates bubbles.

Normally, you would use a ring/mold to get them the traditional size. This one was made in a small pan. For reference, in this one crumpet, there is the equivalent of four crumpets worth of batter

As mentioned in another comment, they serve a purpose. Give it a try some time. https://www.seriouseats.com/strawberry-recipes-5117636

Honestly, I'm right there with you, but these were strawberries that would have been uneaten before I went away for a week. Baking them meant I could keep them alive in the fridge until I returned.

My first attempt at a quenelle... Needs practice, but not a bad go

Thats fair. The reasoning was that the recipe is billed as being coffee forward. I wanted to preserve that as much as possible, so I went with a neutral alcohol.

I plan on making this again, so I'll experiment next time with something that compliments the flavour notes of the coffee

Really? I felt it was pretty simple. The hardest part is the calculations for quantities, but aside from that, it's a pretty basic tiramisu recipe

[–] anytimesoon@piefed.social 4 points 2 weeks ago

The calculator means that you know exactly how much of the coffee liquid to make per portion. This is a pet peve of mine with tiramisu recipes. They call for loads of coffee/alcohol and only end up using a fraction. Total waste.

The calculator is better for cooking, but if you prefer, there is also a video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o3AMALUTp8o

Haha... No. Coffee brewed normally, but then added 90g of vodka to the four espressos

Girlfriend likes a boozy tiramisu.

Ended up being 90g of vodka for 4 portions. It was a bit stronger than I would like, but she was happy, so I am too 🙂

Just got news that my electricity company had a data breach and some of my personal info has been stolen. This includes government id and bank details...

What can I do to protect myself from harm?

Wondering if anyone here can recommend vegan protein powders. Frequently the texture is awful and the flavours are bland.

I have found vegerose and allnutrition who make a pretty decent tasting shake. What other brands are worth trying?

I've been using hetzner for a good long while now. When I switched over to them, I think they were the cheapest around, but it seems loads of other companies are popping up offering dirt cheap VPS's these days. I'm now considering a migration.

Is anyone here using a different provider? Would you recommend? Are there any I should definitely avoid?
