So much for Apple's new privacy angle. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but the human review process I've read about really makes it especially creepy to me. Obviously if they're serious about this nonsense false positives will be bad, I won't argue that. It's just really off-putting to think that when you send a picture of your kid's rash to the doctor or something equally innocuous it might also be sent to a stranger to look at. I don't even have kids and that makes me cringe.

Thank you for all the information, that gives me a lot to think about
That's cool, I'm not even sure it's for the people that do like it lol
Forgot to mention I'm coming from reddit too so I'll probably be keeping a lemmy account either way, but I never used twitter much either and I haven't had a Facebook account in years
Thanks! That helps
Yes, but I also deliberately chose an instance that aligned with my interests. As for static on the federated timeline, sure, there's a lot going on. But I'll take that over the platform trying to play nanny any day. Mute and block exist for a reason.
Private in what sense? If it's privacy from Facebook, you can't.
Excellent point. I'm OK with English but it seems like there are a lot of German pods on diaspora which I can barely read, even those that are labeled as English just hosted in Germany.
