Recently switched over from Windows to Pop_OS! as a daily for the first time, and I am loving every second of it! As a convert from Windows to Linux who also likes to dabble in some advanced stuff, Pop_OS! was very easy to get into. In the past I've tried Arch but it was too much work to get to my liking.
This goes for anyone in the fediverse, not just lemmy users. I am on kbin which may not have as much options as lemmy to migrate to, but I will also be looking out for instances that match my interests more.
Honestly as well meaning affirmative action is meant to be, it's arguably targeting the wrong thing, which rather than admitting based on race, it should be based on class. True diversity comes from people from different lifestyles, regardless of race, instead of all from the elite.
