This reeks of Belichick trying to pass blame for being 2-7 onto anyone other than himself. Has Mac made some questionable decisions? No doubt. I've also seen him make good decisions and put dimes on his receivers hands, only for those balls to be dropped. 2021 showed that with a decent scheme and serviceable supporting cast Mac can be a decent-to-pretty good quarterback. Absent that context these kind of evaluations are meaningless.
He gets to go home and enjoy the holiday with his family. That's not savage, that's pretty thoughtful actually.
