The atmosphere is more dense at the surface and thins out as we climb altitude. Several gases are probably denser than air so there's few of those as well at altitude. Heat is concentrated where the air is more dense and also heat trapping gases like water vapour and CO2 are abundant at sea level.

To fix the cables i guess divers either go down to the cable... or if its too deep they probably pull the cable up by respooling or other methods (probably a sea crane of sorts)

Do yoga, mainly breathing exercises so you can focus on your breathing.

Don't project the sex in your mind when you are at the edge.. good way to avoid this is to divert focus on breathing and not get too excited by the realization that sex is happening.
