The UK is nowhere near perfect. It still can be scary for minorities. Police brutality does exist. But incidence per capita is considerably lower and the incidents that do occur are considerably less deadly compared to the us. The UK is more tolerant to minorities, but still has a lot of work to do. I've lived in the UK my whole life and have seen it gradually improve over the last 40 years, but I'm looking forward to seeing it go further. There are guns here, but not like the us. Police don't carry guns generally and the vast majority of the population aren't allowed to own a gun. Only highly specialised police units get guns and they get wheeled out as a last resort.

My exact concern too. Don't see it as an imminent problem, but would like some sort of succession plan or even to develop some sort of framework to ensure the kernel endures after Linus stops being involved.

Appreciate hearing about your experience 👍 I dont use any of those tools, but self host a complex setup, and is always good to hear how people operate and resolve issues, even if it is luck that saves the day 👍

I've had a domain with a dynamic up for over a year with no problems. I have a simple script that runs every 30mins to check if my IP has changed, then updates the DNS records when required.

You just setup with the traditional partitioning scheme, so / and /home on separate partitions. You can have as many / partitions as you like with different distros on sharing the same /home partition. You still need to install all the packages you use in each distro, but your setup, personal and config file are consistent and preserved across all the distros.

You're missing the point of Linux. Generally, gnu/ Linux is a community based ecosystem across the board. Most of the software, most of the distros and most of the code you will use and encounter using any Linux distro will be community based. That's what gives Linux its advantage. The community can vet and improve any piece of code to improve the system for everybody.

Cool. I'll add the android source code to the repo when I get chance 👍

Yeah, it's entirely online only. And no e2ee, just relies on web server encryption like SSL.

The android, windows and Linux app use propriety parts, the android app is a web view app built in android studio, the Linux and windows apps are just electron apps. I have all the source code I used to build them on my pc, but I didn't create a repo for them. go-notes is fully open source with the backend in go, the clients are just extremely basic frontends.

Edit

Just gone and checked and all the electron apps source code is in my repo, so the Linux and windows apps you can build yourself from the code. I can upload the android code from android studio if you want as well?

I built a fully open source multi-user live collaboration notes app, self host with docker, serve at root or a subpath, has an android, windows and Linux client app, plus the usual web UI.

I've been playing cyberpunk ages on my Linux pc. Installed and worked first time and plays perfectly. Think it's just a user error or lack of skill. But enjoy windows anyway, why did you even bother trying Linux? Windows is great for the average user who just wants to turn it on and not think about it.

It's electrical regen. You will see it all season on every track in practice. Practice is where the teams test set ups and try to set the regen as aggressively as possible whilst still remaining drivable. This will mean in testing you see cars spin as they push the limits of the regen.

I built this app with ai assistance.

The app is self hosted with docker compose. Has customisable end point, default is /go-notes Full rich text formatting with tables, resizable pictures and latex. Multi-user live collaboration on notes with access management.

Tag, search and customise the notes colour.

Has windows, android and Linux client apps all available in my repo.

My wife and I have been using it for over 6 months now and find it irreplaceable.

Would appreciate feedback on it.
