I usually use a feed reader to gather news, but some news sites use newsletters instead of distributing feeds. As a user, is there any advantage to receive news using newsletters over feeds?

ActivityPub uses a "push" model. This means that data is sent from the sender to the receiver (the recipient's server). This is seen in many chat and social networking sites. The "pull" model, on the other hand, can be imagined as an RSS feed. The recipient queries the sender's server to retrieve the data. While this is not modern, it is a much simpler mechanism and can be expected to result in less network connection time and bandwidth usage.

operates on a “pull”-based model unlike ActivityPub based platforms like Mastodon.

This attracts me so much! Thanks for sharing.

I mistook it for Iconify (;・∀・)

If you previously installed a customized version of Firefox with Yandex or Mail.ru, offered through partner distribution channels, this release removes those customizations, including add-ons and default bookmarks. Where applicable, your browser will revert back to default settings, as offered by Mozilla. All other releases of Firefox remain unaffected by the change.
