Foakes should be playing anyway he’s a much better keeper. Bairstow probably cost England the first test with his poor stump work.

I think Ali’s going to play at Headingley but he will be in for a bowler.

KP is a dick but he wasn’t the only one to suggest this. Athers said on comms that Ponting had suggested the same thing to him. Whether it was tongue in check by Ponting who knows

I think England need to find a way to get Foakes in the side. I don’t know if that means dropping Crawley and finding someone else to open or Foakes as a direct replacement for Bairstow. But you should always play your best keeper
