At least from what I can remember. It was a loose sketch, that turned into something else.

2 years ago, back in the ye old days of ricing my dwm setup. I needed some Adventure Time icons, and so I did a bit of pixelart using GIMP. Suffice to say that since then there has been an improvement. Not only are the new ones more stylized and less noisy (Sorry old Finn), but they are more readable. I am not proud of robo cube jake though, but it's fine really.

DWM RICE Now it would be faithful to design my own icons for my desktop. Hmmm....

Would like to see more dwm pizaz? https://icetree.neocities.org/articles/rices/

Size: 16x16. Number of sprites: 32.

This took about 5 hours, I worked on it, eeh, roughly for 3 days. I decided to not edit the old ones, so I can see improvement in the last ones, I also planned to do more, but I lost interest :(

Also you can see how I copied and pasted the first one, did some minor editing, some characters really broke the format though.

Can you guess them all? I sometimes can't. Anyway the characters in order from left to right: *Inhales*

  1. Random doodle that converged to Saul, as all things should.
  2. Some demon.
  3. Some goblin.
  4. Some ninja.
  5. Kratos from God Of War.
  6. Vi from Arcane (I could not get the hair right, no matter how hard I tried)
  7. Jinx from Arcane.
  8. Jake from Adventure Time.
  9. Finn from Adventure Time.
  10. Marceline from Adventure Time.
  11. Ice King from Adventure Time.
  12. Madeline from Celeste.
  13. Badeline from Celeste.
  14. Malina from Helltaker.
  15. Loremaster from Helltaker. (This one I am proud of)
  16. Pomni from The Amazing Digital Circus.
  17. ENA from, err, ENA.
  18. Kinger from The Amazing Digital Circus.
  19. Angel Dust from Hazbin Hotel. (This one was tough)
  20. Zero from Katana ZERO.
  21. Frisk from Undertale.
  22. Chara from Undertale.
  23. Undertale from Undertale, I mean Sans from Undertale.
  24. Papyrus from Undertale.
  25. Flame bartender than I forgot their name from Undertale.
  26. Ryoshu from Project Moon.
  27. Surtr from Arknights.
  28. A little tomfoolery to keep me sane.
  29. W from Arknights.
  30. Some fire lady.
  31. Some water slime lady.
  32. Some stardust lady.

BONUS: Some poor Sauls stretched and squashed to resemble letters, like a wink at the end, back to our origins or something. Open in new tab to remove anti-aliasing, probably.

This was done like a week ago, now I am sick of colors and doing 1 Bit pieces, I need to tidy them up and then post em.

Oof, that's some smooth fucking animation! Next time you might wanna scale it to something like 1920, so it scales up on many screens :)

Man I knew he reminded me of someone!

A 128x128 piece. Every time I create a big piece I crank up the bush size and can't seem t focus on small details :(

Overall I think It's pretty neat, the fire that is, not so much about the character.

The title and the piece are inspired by the song Operation Pyrite from Arknights.

The text was rushed, also it's way cooler this way :)

Feedback is welcome!

I tried doing that small sprite size thingy, where you have to choose ONE feature and let it consume the entire sprite, in my case it was her hair as I tend to see many artists do the same thing.

I got really confused on her outfit though, and you can see that the sprite readability isn't that great.

Overall it was a fun experience.

EDIT: The sprite was edited after receiving some feedback on Discord. Here's the old one, the new one, and the reference side by side:

Woah, magical!

Thank you! I forgot to mention that I use wal (aren't we all?) to generate color schemes from pictures, and the color scheme is bloodmoon on lospec. if anyone is interested.

WM: dwm White iPod: That's rockbox's UI simulator. Red iPod: Is just a dzen window with two lines

Been messing with it after midnight. Turned out ok, I guess. Dzen is fun to mess with, but I don't know if I want to use it as a statusbar and/or notification daemon.

The only thing I wish to know, is how the hell do I move a dzen popup, I tried wmctrl but that didn't work.

Lil attempt at drawing anything other than a character. I ended up really liking how the crabs turned out. The color palette is bloodmoon on lospec.

Ah yes experimentation is quite fun. I have been doing it for the past 3 days. These remind me a lot of Conway's game of life.

Oh yeah, you reminded me of those. I remember Septembit by Saultoons. The rose, and the swallow shattered my comfort zone. Sadly I didn't finish it, but it was pretty fun.

This one was highly experimental. The color palette to the animation. It turned out better than I thought it would. I still need to focus on other aspects of pixelart and draw things other than characters.

The animation is simple of course, so I would like to try something more complex. I picked up the habit of using greyscale for the first sketch, breaking things into parts, etc.

Remember opening it in a new tab to disable anti-aliasing! Created using Libresprite.

Must be the heavy outlines.

Polished it more, and used the BOI palette. Also I don't know if it works on other browsers, but opening this in a new tab should get rid of the anti-aliasing.

That looks sick!

A big eye staring into a small eye, there is also a middle eye behind them. Also they are crying blood that's coming from a bucket above the big eye.

Made with insomnia, powered by Libresprite.

Atmospheric black metal from Russia. Track 1 and 2 are something else. The riff in track 2 gives me the image of someone 'crawling atop a mountain'. Also every time that accordion hits I start grinning, it is a wonderful addition. Russian lyrics is the cherry on top.

It's the apple from reverse 1999, a Chinese RPG game. I just saw it and thought it would be fun to draw.

The artist is CRRN. Here is the original:

An image of an apple with googly eyes, it also has a nice little bow tie :)

Criticism is accepted, you may notice some issues with the lighting, and the outlines probably? It's also 128x128 a bit bigger than what I would work with.

Made in Pixelorama.
