This is an event posted on a francophone instance, you should expect to see some french being spoken by coming here. If anyone shows up with a question in a language - other than English - that I can speak, I will automatically assume it's easier for them that way and respond in their language if possible ; that has also been my approach in advertising this event.

That's not what traditional journalism is though, you're just describing modern "news" websites

8 teams will be invited and 4 teams will earn their spots through the open qualifier(s?). This means a total of 12 teams, which is an increase from last year’s 10 teams. 5 of the 8 invited teams have already been decided: G2 Hel, SK Gaming Avarosa, Team Vitality French Bees, Solary Académie, and Galions Pearl.

Taiga is an open-source project management software for cross-functional teams that work agile across both scrum and kanban frameworks.

Taiga's birth goes back to a Kaleidos hackathon in 2013. The team at Kaleidos, filled with frustration, couldn't find an intuitive and visually appealing tool to facilitate agile methodologies for both developers and designers. So, we did what was right. We decided to come up with a better tool and that's how Taiga's journey began!

Penpot is an open source prototyping (bridges design and code) made by https://kaleidos.net/ a Madrilena (Spain) company

This is a map made by French cartograph Perrin Remonté:

Funny Sunday map interlude with a special map: it shows an imaginary continent hidden in the hollow of the Mediterranean, a name meaning “[the sea] in the middle of the lands”. This hidden continent is naturally “the land in the middle of the seas”, the Mediocean! The lands become seas and vice versa.

The black, inhospitable, cold and dark abysses become all white, covered with ice caps and beaten by high-altitude blizzards, like the Tartarus or Boreas caps which exceed 5000 meters in altitude, formerly 5000 meters deep while Mount Parnassus, Mount Olympus, Mount Qaf - real and legendary mountains - culminate at several thousand meters above sea level and still inspire beliefs and respect in these humans who look at them, fear them and admire them from the plains.

Sobek, Minos, Alexander, Alaric, Hannibal: the Gods, Kings and Queens rushed to give their names to these mountains, plateaus, seas, hills and coasts that emerged from the earth! It must be said that the Mediterranean is full of myths and legends, empires made and unmade, marvels of architecture or literature: the Caldera of the Iliad, the Peninsula of Hercules and the Bay of Galatea will be able to testify to this.

The map simply uses bathymetric data that I reversed, the rest is the result of intense internet research to find the best names. I am not Mediterranean for a penny, I have seen this sea once in my life but I tried to do it justice as best I could, it is a sacred piece of history and geography!

My other fictional maps are here!

The situation was further exacerbated by political exploitation from far-right French politicians, notably Marion Maréchal, who attempted to use the story to push an "anti-woke" agenda.

Setting a troubling precedent, this situation weakens the women's and marginalized genders scene, underscoring the urgent need for an officially sanctioned Game Changers circuit. As reported in January, Riot Games is preparing to launch its League of Legends efforts this year, though uncertainty still surrounds the competition. Sources now anticipate potential delays, a concern that GameWard itself acknowledged and cited as further justification for its decision, with indications that the first year of League of Legends Game Changers may operate on a lower budget than initially agreed upon. With financial instability, teams like BDS Valkyries and MAD Lions KOI pulled back their efforts last year, and GameWard's situation further hinders the growth of the scene, highlighting its extreme vulnerability.

Beyond the economic impact, this move sends a significant blow to the promotion of inclusivity and the acceptance of transgender women in esports. While the majority of those within the scene continue to support transgender women, incidents like this illustrate how fragile their place in esports can be when decisions are driven by external pressures. Investors and sponsors hold substantial influence over the existence of these teams, and their actions—like GameWard's disbandment—serve as a reminder that the livelihoods of transgender players are at risk.

Connected to this news, sources have indicated that Riot Games will prevent non-binary players from competing in the upcoming League of Legends Game Changers circuit, a policy already in place in Webedia's Coupe des Étoiles, despite them having been included in the Equal Esports Cup for the past few years. Furthermore, past whistleblowers have pointed to high-profile organizations and titleholders rejecting transgender women during tryouts. Without continued support for transgender women, there’s a real risk of the scene regressing, further marginalizing these players. What starts with the exclusion of non-binary individuals today could set a precedent that leaves transgender women vulnerable to similar treatment in the future.
