I think you're correct. It was a few months ago so maybe I made a new account without realizing somehow. I didn't realize the difference between the two servers until I noticed this issue.

By abandon I only mean forget about. If I was unable to login to the same account on the two devices it would be difficult to abandon one. As I can login to Lemmygrad using that URL I can abandon this account in favor of the other.

Now since I understand the issue there is no issue. I think the whole thing was more humorous than frustrating. I've never been in a situation where different servers worked together but remained separate, confederated or whatnot. It's a fun issue since there's a bit of learning involved.

One of them on my PC. One of them on my Phone. When I first switched over to lemmy.ml I made the account once. I made it on my PC. When I signed into my account on my phone it created another instance. Same username. Same Password. Two Accounts. As far as I can tell there’s no way to abandon one for the other… If I’m on my PC it has to be on this account. If I’m on my phone it has to be the other. Same credentials.

That's what I settled on. I just saved the webpage to my homescreen. I don't have any complaints.

I don't know why it's not working for me. I'll try again another day and see if it fixes itself. From that top left menu tried to select profile but at this moment it's unresponsive for me. Hopefully whatever is going on is going to resolve itself. Thanks for replying.

so I downloaded Jerboa, hit the profile icon on the bottom right and nothing happened. There is no option to sign into the app. Opening the directory on the top left of the screen and selecting profile from there also does nothing. It glows blue for a second and then does nothing.

I actually have F- Droid downloaded on my phone! I'll try installing it from that repository and see if it works if I install it from there.

So Jerboa from F-Droid has a Download Failed message.

"The requested file was not found: http://f-droid/repo/com.jerboa_9.apk"

so that's that.

The account is created. I used my PC on a firefox browser. The problem is from the app, Lemmur, not a browser. I heard there was another app, Jerboa that might work.

I was originally trying to create the account using a phone on both a chrome and firefox browser. No error messages occurred. It should have returned an error I couldn't tell you why it didn't.

I don't like reddit. I would like to migrate over to Lemmy. Lemmy is making it exceedingly difficult to do so. I have this account that I'm working from right now from my computer. I cannot add it to the app on the phone. I simply will not go through. After I put in the credentials it stays at the loading phase. I don't know if there is an error or not because it will not tell me. It will stay in this phase for hours.

I couldn't even make an account over the phone because it wouldn't tell me syntax errors when I was trying to make the account. I would hit create account and it would sit there doing nothing as if the page was broken. For instance, it wouldn't tell me what characters I was allowed to use in the user name, it wouldn't tell me how many characters and what kinds of characters I needed to use in the password.

I had to build to the account from the PC in order to be told I needed to adjust my user name and password. It took over a month to bother to figure that out.

Even after creating the account and being able to use it from my PC I am still unable to sign into the account or use it from my phone.

How many people want to migrate over to Lemmy but are being denied access due to these technical problems?
