Actually, that workaround is no longer required. Which doesn't invalidate my point though.

Well, it was about compatibility years ago, too. But when they did the Fenix project, I remember initially only about 5 extensions were available to install, even if they could've allowed more with the APIs available back then. Then it took years again to get access to the full store of extensions.

Edit: also, where did themes go? It isn't that hard to overlay a horizontal image on the toolbar like before.

And yet they introduced nonsense restrictions on them after overhauling the interface few years ago.

I meant like the elderly might still be using a dumb phone, but not a CRT screen or analog connection.

Why couldn't you turn off 3G on that old phone via that same hidden menu? Or how come the phone didn't even recognize that it can fall back to 2G...

Well, they shouldn't turn it off any time soon, just like they don't turn off analog radio. TV is one I can understand where turning off old methods makes sense, because people upgrade their TVs and use IPTV/SatTV/cable TV much more likely anyway.

These are all good points and indeed I considered them. I'm curious though, how many 6th gen foldables have you had to repair yet? I know their 4rd gen was the most problematic and 5th, 6th got new hinges again.

I get that too. It helps to put it in perspective:

  • 870€ is about 45% of the official original price
  • the phone was used for 2 months and in a very good condition (saw it firsthand)
  • valid warranty etc

I absolutely agree, luckily I got mine used for 870€.

So, a smartwatch? Pretty sure someone has made "badge" holders for some models by now, just like you can get a brand new iPod.

I switched from OP 9 Pro to a Z Fold 6 to get the best of both worlds - a small, TV remote-like phone by default and a square-ish tablet for media and multitasking. Couldn't be happier.

At the same time, I do understand people who thought the width of Samsung's Folds is too small - my first consideration was OnePlus Open anyway, but upon actually holding it in store, I realized that Z Fold 6 is just more comfortable for me to hold closed.

new technology comes along

I believe the RAZR foldables allow you to do almost anything on the front screen, and in the latest iterations the front screen is larger than Samsung's.

Please let us disable using back button to open the drawer and on next press, then a prompt to exit the app. I want Connect to behave like any other Android app does - exit the app immediately if there is no navigation stack left.

As ironic as it may be, Connect 1.0.65 (65) is unable to open this community, from the link in its settings. Also tried other ways to open it in the app, same result.

I checked that lemm.ee isn't defederating with lemmy.ca so I'm not sure what may cause this. Android 13.

Mis oleks, kui u/sunaurus peaks natuke r/Eesti moderaatoritega nõu, et teha reklaami ja kolida vähemalt osa rahvaga siia? Oleme ju digiriik, inimesed kohanevad muudatustega 😄

Have you considered doing something similar for Mastodon, to allow interacting with toots within Lemmy UI? I know the opposite is possible and Kbin also has some kind of integration, but that doesn't seem to fully work at the moment either.
