Good breakdown. I might end up using it on my next desktop

Is this issue still ongoing? I've had various threads that I've had issues accessing via Jerboa and the pwa on my Chromebook. Can't figure out if it's a Lemmy-wide issue or instance-specific... from 404 issues to the website hanging when I submit a post along with pages that only load the header

Second gen. Pixel Watch. Not expecting anything groundbreaking tbh, but skipped the first one and have $$$ burning a hole in my pocket.

  • Switching from a consumer to a creator: I realized that if I want more people to engage w/ content, I have to be the change I want to see. I interact w/ content more regularly as a result
  • Update settings so that 'Sort Type = New': There isn't as much content as Reddit just yet, and so the default 'sort by active' threads results in seeing the same threads for too long in many communities. Changing my view to 'new' highlighted new content more clearly, and seeing others make the effort to create new conversations encouraged me to try to comment on their content.
  • Try the desktop/mobile/app versions: The experiences are different across the multiple platforms. Find out which one works best for your workflow

Same. I always liked the app, but was recently blown away w/ how intuitive and clean their Android tablet interface was

Great concept.

I'd say like-minded people is #1 and lots of engagement is #2 (with the catch-22 that if there's a lack of engagement, then it doesn't provide the opportunity to meet like-minded people).

I think that once the bare minimum of engagement is achieved though, #1 becomes vastly more important.

For example I'd rather have a thread w/ 20 comments and 80% of the comments are meaningful to me, versus a thread w/ 1,000 comments and 20% of the people have responses that I like. Although the 2nd thread has more meaningful comments overall, I have to sift through a lot of noise to get there.

That's part of the reason I'm optimistic about lemmy and how it has self-selected similiarly-minded people currently.

Loop Habit Tracker pairs nicely with Atomic Habits or any other foray into productivity.

Stellar stat-tracking and usability. It's twice as great when you look at the alternatives and see mostly month-to-month subscriptions for similar features

As long as it's worse than the Bears, I'm a happy camper.

Ahhh I was wondering why Lemmur didn't recognize my instance

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 years ago

Same. I like that it's on F-Droid too

Good to see the word being spread and I'm hoping the open-source alternatives are gearing up for the coming weeks
