Our ineffective representatives just need to step down. Term limits might be helpful in the long term, but Bernie and AOC are the only people with their heads on their shoulders right now.
Main is more concise and less problematic. A win all around.
I keep putting off Elden Ring for this reason. It looks great, I'm sure it's fun, but I don't want to be stressed out.
I feel like it would be more like "error at 1:1". That or the more sinister error on line 90 when there aren't that many lines
The thought often crosses my mind, but it is far too difficult.
In a few weeks people are going to be like "how could he do this??", with regards to tariffs (just to be clear, because he'll do some other terrible shit at the same time).
This has been his plan and the one thing he keeps returning to that makes him feel really powerful. Of course he's going to enact tariffs.
I'm smack dab in the middle of the US and I don't want to be part of it, currently.

Doing something scrappy with an old laptop is cool. Hey, built in UPS if the battery still works!
Doing something powerful and reliable with server class hardware is also very cool.

It's just a word at the end of the day. To me "main" is literally a shorter word that means the same thing in my brain. It could be "trunk" or "release" or whatever else you'd like. "master" makes some people uneasy, so it seems like a simple solution to pick a different word.
The development community talked, informally settled on main, and here we are. Anecdotally it took me more time to write this than to switch most of my projects over. I use GitHub actions and a simple find/replace for a word not otherwise commonly used was the ticket.
I really don't care what other people use at the end of the day. Discussing version control and branching strategies drains my life away. If it is difficult to switch, don't, but if you start a new repo it is worth thinking about for a moment.
