Completely agree. A perspective change on moderating the Fediverse really is needed. It can’t be handled exactly the same as Reddit and this is a great example of how to handle it, even if it is surprising at first.

Fedio.io is run by Jerry Bell. Not sure his political views, but he will run an excellent server. He runs the infosec.exchange Mastodon instance. He is the VP and CISO of IBM Public Cloud.
