I don't think people are really seeking a bespoke pronoun set, it's more like several sets of candidate pronouns fighting to become mainstream. I used to prefer neopronouns for myself, but I never minded if someone used a different gender neutral pronoun for me
I was especially chuffed when someone referred to me as "xe" on a service I'd never talked about pronouns on
