Sounds like they're basically requiring parental controls on device, which I think is the optimal solution. Though a lot of parental control apps get really privacy invasive.

Should it be a rating for how well it runs on Steam Deck, or how compatible it is with proton?
I've never used Goodreads, I usually get my book recommendations from YouTube channels when I'm watching videos about other books or miscellaneous stuff.
It's true, but it's also not an excuse. They broke the law because they were unlawfully collecting this data without explicit consent. They should absolutely be getting fucked for privacy violations.
I recommend the NewPipe-Sponserblock instead of default Newpipe
So does Neostore and Droid-ify. Those are worth looking into.
Not sure about neostore, but droid-ify takes like a half a second to fetch repo updates, and fdroid takes me like 10 seconds.
I have a lot of complaints about this too, but namely lack of seamless updates is baffling to me.
Luckily I found Droid-ify and solves both those problems. Also has the common repos frequently added, like IzzyOnDroid, easily pre-available to enabled in the settings.
This definitely replaced the archaeic fdroid client for me, they desperately need an overhaul as it's a terrible first impression.
I guess that's what the movie is lol, I'm excited for part 2 coming out this year.
