Too many slices

Thanks for posting this. The conservative christians in my rural area are obsessed with Revelation as they see it 'unfolding before their very eyes.' I am familiar with other broad interpretations of Revelation, from it being a typical 1st century style of prose ranting against Rome to it being a dying man's syphilis fever dream, though appreciate the deep dive these lectures afford.

Probably won't be able to open anyone's mind to the possibility that the end times are not happening right now 'just as Revelation predicted' but it will be nice to have a few solid contrary references to throw out when it's being discussed around me.

I had the same issue though only on jerboa. The website search works fine.

I am on lemmy.one. Are you using jerboa? I posted a similar experience using jerboa and someone suggested logging in to the lemmy website instead and using the web search function to add communities not already connected. That totally works!

This is cool, I've never seen it before. There's lots of interesting rock art in Australia. Some in Northern Territory are like 30,000 years old. I think some of the oldest in the world.

Sad as it is, I've given up even attempting discourse with them. I always believed that people could come to a mutual understanding given enough honest communication and fact based information. That's before I move to the rural South. Logic holds no power here. Everything always defaults to their own personal interpretation of their religious texts where god is clearly telling them joe biden is in league with satan trying to usher in the antichrist and the rest of the pedo grooming marxist democrats are coming for their children, and then the world, to enslave the human race with global warming taxes and the mark of the beast.... unless they vote trump. I am just... I can't.

I live in a very rural part of a southern state and the majority of people around me are pro Trump christian conservatives. They went from decrying '1st amendment violations' on old Twitter (even though it's a corporation) to celebrating the recent wave of anti-lbgtq+ legislation sweeping across red states, though it actually does violate the 1st amendment, because 'someone's got to do something about the cultural rot.'

I am very relieved to see the courts not buying it and hope this trend continues.

Thanks for the warning! In general sex scenes don't bother me and are easy to skip over if they do. Not letting that get in my way on this new adventure!

Wow I've never considered putting mango in cake. Is the mango pureed? I'm curious what other flavors are in it, lemon or vanilla?
