  • The Gotion factory highlights the challenges Chinese companies face in the U.S., particularly during a climate of deep political polarization, nationalism, and growing suspicion toward China.
  • A grassroots “No Go” movement, fueled by fears of communism and environmental concerns, successfully stalled the project in Michigan, leading to the ouster of local officials who supported the factory.
  • The Gotion case shows the disconnect between national economic goals and local concerns, especially in communities wary of globalization and foreign investment.

On 25 February he said on air: “Every year in France, we commemorate what happened in Oradour-sur-Glane – the massacre of an entire village. But we have committed hundreds of these, in Algeria. Are we aware of this?”

He was referring to the village where an SS unit returning to the front in Normandy massacred 642 residents on 10 June 1944. Leaving a chilling memorial for future generations, the village was never rebuilt.

Challenged by the anchor over whether “we [the French] behaved like the Nazis”, Aphatie said: “The Nazis behaved like us.”

On X, he acknowledged his comments had created a “debate” but said it was of great importance to understand the full story over France’s 1830-1962 presence in Algeria, saying he was “horrified” by what he had read in history books.

After being suspended for a week by the channel it means that “if I come back to RTL I validate this and admit to making a mistake”.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Monday that Ukraine would have to make concessions over land that Russia had taken since 2014 as part of any agreement to end the war.

Mr. Rubio spoke as he was flying to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, for talks with senior Ukrainian officials, and 10 days after a contentious White House meeting between President Trump and his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky. The Trump administration halted military aid to Ukraine after the blowup, which centered on Mr. Trump’s refusal to include any security guarantees in a proposed deal involving Ukraine’s natural resources.

One of the travel vlogger the article quoted went out of his way and accidentally stumbled into a military site. Perhaps you should watch his series to judge for yourself.

The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.

Out of 5 of the manufacturers listed 4 export their cars overseas. So its not all just domestic sales.

Here in Singapore BYD is already top in terms of sales.

costs me a tenth of what petrol does.

This is the reason why most people would want to switch to EVs. The total running cost in the long run is significantly lower.

You are comparing apples to oranges here since this is an LFP battery while the Tesla 4680 isn't.

The 5 year battery warranty is good to have. Hopefully it forces other OEMs to do the same.

CCS2 is used in most parts of the world as well.

I am fairly certain you could charge any EVs with the Tesla supercharger in most parts of the world. Perhaps it's just a US thing where it's limited to just Tesla vehicles.

It's a badge engineered Deepal SL03 so I don't think Mazda can have too much flexibility in changing the car.

There are Chinese EV taxis and buses in Singapore service for over five years since their introduction.

I believe there are already people doing something like that.
