If you have a choice to believe it, then it is not science. Of course there can be debates on the interpretation and accurracy of findings but there needs to be evidence. Once confronted with compelling evidence you should not have a choice wether to accept something as a fact or not. However, while we (as scientists) cannot control the outcome (evidence), we can still control the method and the questions we are trying to answer. None of this is done here and this post should be removed because it has no scientific value. Maybe try a "fiction", "religion" or "conspiracy" community.
sheesh
The "little confused?" throws me off. Are you confused? Then why the questionmark? It has this condecending undertone... Who is confused? sexy_peach laid out their arguments what else do you need? Either get to the point that you are trying to make or change the phrasing... Also, this is just a surveillance report (not a carefully designed and peer reviewed study) so I would not interpret to much into it based on a single data table.
WTF did I just read. Also, where are the reptilian shapeshifters?
Many more vaccines were administered in 2021. Dividing by total number of vaccines likely yields almost constant ratios. (This is just a guess as I did not look at the data...)
I was thinking the same..It seems the old saying remains true - don't feed the trolls. Also, I was almost waiting for a post on reddit/etc. claiming they were banned froom lemmy because of all the "bigots" here. :/ I hope this kind of tactics are not successful. Thanks for all the great work on this community!
This trolling is very annoying. In addition there is always the name calling ("facist", "bigot",..) by this user and it seems it is @SupportTransPeople that was banned.
If most people are vaccinated you will also find more people spreading it (in absolut terms - assuming a constant probablility of breakthrough). However, we know that these are not entirely constant (e.g., depend on vaccine type, age of people etc.) and might be confounded by other societal measures (e.g., lockdown/isolation of only unvaccinated people). Reporting one data table does not provide enough information... even looking at a single country is just anectotal evidence. Hence, the need for thorough studies or meta-analysis. Nothing to "debunk" here. This is not a conspiracy theory. If you have a hypothesis, test it or quantify its liklihood using all data available.
