Yeah close enough...
unhedged
Yup, Chinese do a big celebration during CNY. When Malays and Indians have big celebrations for hari raya and deepavali, it's assumed those are their new years. Some older Chinese folks (especially those who didn't attend school much) simply refer to Raya and Deepavali as Malay people new year and Indian people new year.
I had that assumption maybe till schooling age.
It's the weekend!
Their own fleet of refrigerated trucks deliver them in styrofoam boxes. Which is why you saw so many people throwing out styrofoam boxes. Fish, meats, etc.
It was super popular during MCO. Everyone got time and some of these sellera are really good at interacting with audience.
My wife and a few friends regularly watched a fish seller in klang. Indian guy, spoke absolutely perfect bahasa pasar chinese. Someone commented on his chatbox asking what god he prays to (that's just colloquial chinese for what religion are you). He said aiya indian god la. I thought that was so unnecessary and amusing.
what if the turns are extremely tight and successive
Yeah then have to drive slower so that the car has enough time to roll back and forth between the turns. So when driving for occupant comfort the limit is not grip but it's something more complicated.
I think, occupant comfort is not limited by grip/acceleration alone, but by also the rate of change of acceleration (in all directions and rotations). Assuming everyone are in seatbelts and kids are in car seats so no one rattles around in the car. I notice that I can still brake slightly aggressively if I ease onto the pedal gradually and pile it on slowly.
The body control is decent if you are willing to be patient and let the chassis settle when pushing.
I kind of enjoy driving SUVs and vans for this reason. You got to turn in gradually to accommodate the body roll and the slower response. So the driving is actually quite fun as you can manage the vehicle dynamics. And all this happens at pretty sane speeds.
It's even more fun when you are able to take nice smooth lines through curves and keep up with obnoxious sedans who were trying to cucuk you earlier. Who's poking who now, wanker!
~~Is it due to electric power steering? I think 2004 Vios was still using hydraulic PS~~
Just saw that you "have driven a ton of FWDs from old to new nothing ever behaves like this." So it's not a Vios VS CX-3 problem then.
What's the draw of this machine? Is it a budget model with easily replaced parts that can be done yourself to get a way better coffee out of it? (cos you sound like that kind of coffee person)
Taylor Swift's "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)"
Speak Now (Taylor's Version) was released on 7/7/23 (same day as the Singapore concert general sale, but that is my tragic story for another time). Some key differences in the Taylor's Version album:
-
Additional songs 'from the vault'
-
Her voice has definitely matured. It sounds nicer and more mellow, but it also lost the teenage angst and young kid sound. Speak Now was recorded starting in 2008 when TS was 19 years old. In contrast Speak Now (Taylor's Version) was recorded some time after 2021 when she was 32. Can't say which one is better, they are just different variants.
-
Lyric change in one song, "Better than Revenge":
She's not a saint and she's not what you think
She's an actress, whoa
She's better known for the things that she does
On the mattress, whoa
"Better than Revenge (Taylor's Version)":
She's not a saint and she's not what you think
She's an actress, woah
He was a moth to the flame
She was holding the matches, woah
The original version places the blame squarely on this other girl for seducing her man, which TS later regrets as such a situation would actually be the fault of both the girl and her guy for cheating on her. While the new version is more morally and ethically correct, the original lyrics do pack a better punch for being explicitly bitter and angry about a girl who seduced your man.
One last note about Speak Now: it is my opinion that Long Live is the best song in here. It's an aspirational song (for most of us). If you ever get to experience some of the sentiments conveyed in "Long Live", congratulations. You have made it. You really have.
Quick summary of the origins of the (Taylor's Version) albums:
- Due to the way her recording contract was set up, TS's first few albums were owned by the label Big Machine Records.
- When Big Machine Records was sold to a new owner, TS's wanted to buy back ownership of her albums, but the new owner refused to sell.
- TS still owns the rights to the songs and music, it is only the specific recording that is owned by the studio.
- So TS performed the music and got it recorded again, and released it as her own. Thus the various (Taylor's Version) albums floating around and selling (and streaming) very well.
I have Trapo. Seems pretty durable, i bought them about 2 years ago during CMCO.
I think the overall thickness is 7 mm or so (more than half cm, less than one cm). However they are pretty lightweight so don't bet the farm on that.
Effect on NVH I cannot comment, my car doesn't have that problem so can't observe that.
