Firefox ... sends user data to Alphabet inc, NEST and other Google advertising companies

I don't think this is true. The Mozilla FAQ states that they only use telemetry data for product improvement.

Also, you're probably aware of this already, but Vivaldi is not open source.

We need a Carl Sagan/Neil Degrasse Tyson/David Attenborough figure too.

That’s unfortunate that Lemmy doesn’t support this yet. Hopefully they’ll implement this functionality someday.

I'd like to move my profile, complete with comment/post history and subscribed communities, from the "flagship instance" to another one. Is that possible?

EDIT: Created a feature request on GitHub: https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/1985

Developer here 👋 Thanks! I plan on using AGPLv3 for all my open source projects in future and honestly think others should too.

Developer here 👋 You're right, I use an iPhone, so I targeted iOS first since I wanted this solution for myself anyway. But to be honest part of the motivation for building this is because I didn't want to stay walled in to the Apple ecosystem – I want to be able to access my photos from multiple devices, not just Apple ones. So an Android client, if there's enough interest (and indeed, there does seem to be) is on the roadmap. Do add your email (alias) if you're interested :)
