It costs $75 to DIY. Buy a new ice maker on amazon, it takes about 15 minutes to install if you know what you are doing. I have the same horrible predicament with my Samsung fridge and replace the ice maker every year, as the replacements will also break. It's still cheaper than a new fridge but ridiculous

interest rates are usually an annual rate and accrue monthly. You seem to have applied the interest percentage of 1% to every deposit which is incorrect. Each deposit should gain that amount every year. For example, if you deposited $10 last year now it would be $10.10. If you deposited $10 2 years ago it would now be $10.201 due to the interest compounding.
it takes a few defrost cycles to get the old one out. The first time I did it I bought a kit from Parts Dr which replace the board, the ice maker, and other components and that does seem to be $300 now. That lasted for a year and now every year or so I get just a new ice maker off Amazon, the one I last purchased currently is $100. I'm not sure if doing the whole replacement the first time around helped or not.
