Ça doit faire au moins 1 an que je ne suis pas retourné sur Reddit, et de voir à quoi s'en est devenu... Je ne suis pas surpris de cette direction vers la censure/enshittification à l'extrême pour rendre la plateforme plus agréable aux annonceurs. C'est un peu triste mais en réalité la plateforme est peu importante, ce qui était intéressant sur Reddit c'était la culture qui avait pris forme et je crois que sur Lemmy on commence à voir la continuité de cette culture.

Oui, quand je magasine, j'ai toujours investi le temps à magasiner local (les produits du Québec) et je suis même allé au point d'acheter des produits européens s'il n'y a pas de produit québécois qui existe. Je suis certain qu'il est impossible d’acheter de manière à complètement éviter de donner mon salaire à des conglomérat américains, mais je me dis que le petit montant qui est envoyé aux entreprises d'ici peut faire une différence dans leurs chiffres d'affaires.

Oh it's awesome to see posts from Paula Simons on lemmy! For context, she's a Canadian Senator that has an active Mastodon account, and has interacted with constituents directly through the fediverse. I haven't done much of a deep dive into her politics, but she's openly taken questions from the fediverse and brought them to the senate floor, and then shared back the replies from the federal government.
In my opinion, she's a great example of what a politican can be when they leverage decentralized social media.
