Saskatchewan Roughriders’ QB Trevor Harris carted off field with apparent right leg injury

The Canadian Football League appears to have lost another veteran quarterback for the foreseeable future, after Saskatchewan Roughriders’ starter Trevor Harris was carted off the field in the fourth quarter of his team’s game against the Calgary Stampeders. On second-and-17 with 9:25 remaining in the game, the 37-year-old took off on a rare run. He […]

Crum crushes Bombers in thrilling comeback and three other reasons why the Redblacks beat Winnipeg

The Ottawa Redblacks pulled off a stunning upset of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Saturday afternoon at TD Place, coming back from a 19-point deficit to claim a 31-28 victory in overtime. Unfortunately, neither of our 3Down columnists were able to witness it. With both John Hodge and Santino Filoso otherwise occupied this week, I’ve […]

Commissioner Randy Ambrosie continues to float Quebec City as a possible destination for CFL expansion, but one of the city’s most powerful sports investors isn’t on board with the idea. The Toronto Argonauts remain the only undefeated team in the CFL following a 35-27 win over the Montreal Alouettes on Friday night at Percival Molson Stadium. This is the first time the Argos have been 4-0 to start a season since 1983, a year that ended with a Toronto Grey Cup victory. Here are my […]

Edmonton Elks’ president Victor Cui is openly contemplating personnel changes in an attempt to pull his organization out of a historic tailspin, but the man in charge of football operations does not appear to be on the chopping block. Alouettes put up fight but can’t stop Chad Kelly in vintage CFL contest

In a vintage CFL game with plenty of big plays, the Montreal Alouettes tested the undefeated Toronto Argonauts’ East Division supremacy but ultimately fell short by a score of 35-27. It was the play of Argonauts’ quarterback Chad Kelly that proved to be the difference, as the 29-year-old was surgical with the aerial attack. He […]

‘I’d like to apologize to everybody within earshot’: Chris Jones blames penalties for Elks’ 20th consecutive home loss

The Edmonton Elks’ ineptitude has hit yet another historic milestone and head coach Chris Jones believes penalties were a critical factor in his team’s 37-29 loss to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Thursday night. “13 penalties, 163 (yards), I mean that equates to around 12 points analytically,” Jones told the 630 CHED post-game show. “Anytime you’re […]

Sure, TV ratings are up. But half full stands isn't a great look for the league for fans watching on TV when it happens game after game (aside from Saskatchewan I suppose). Aside from the fact that in a gate driven league this has long term consequences.

What needs to happen to help get people to go and watch the game live?
