We have a small but dedicated user base. The community has daily posts to share your shave of the day (SOTD) so you can easily see what other people have been using. Other posts are allowed, like mail calls, reviews, or any other interesting shave content.

Yes, we really enjoy shaving that much!

The format can also be anything, including:

  • Your old sock posed in an interesting way

Just include a sock in the post and you should be fine 🧦

So this little community started from a joke comment on a post about how communities here are often Lemmy versions of communities on other platforms. That's totally ok, but we thought some originality might be nice and ran with that random joke comment.

Now that the community is growing, and I have a better idea of what the community can be, it's time to promote it 🥳🧦

A place to post product recalls. Recalls can be national or local, even just one store down the street. Nor are they limited to one country, if a product is declared unsafe by the government or the maker, share it here.

World of JRPGs is a community for everything around Japanese-style role-playing games (JRPGs). We talk about news, different games or new events.

It's inclusive JRPG discussion, on newer games like Persona 5 Tactica and Super Mario RPG, or chat about older games like Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy, Ys. We have plenty of lurkers and we cover news well, but we'd love to see more active contributors to discussion!

Yes this community already exists on lemmy.world but not all of our federated instances are federated with world (e.g. beehaw) so this provides an alternative community

I'm setting up the first round now. Please join early, so you will be notified when we start.

You can also make your own game in addition to the community wide one.

How to play?

Until we get a Fediverse version of this, you will need a Spotify account. I can't fix this unfortunately, it's up to the MusicLeague people to fix this.

  • Every week, there will be a prompt. You will need to pick a song based on that
  • The next week, everyone will assign points anonymously
  • Enjoy finding new music and reading comments until we get to the end of the game
  • The user with the most points will win something (like our admiration)🏆

Join us at the front gate to welcome new users into Lemmy, and to the Fediverse as a whole!

I'm hoping this community will encourage new people to do things like the following:

  • share what you're looking for, or what you want to do. We'll help you find it
  • Ask questions! The Fediverse is new to most people. If you're unsure about something, others are unsure as well.
  • Just smile and wave, maybe someone will wave back 👋

I searched around for a bit and didn't see a community for this purpose, so I made this one.

If you have suggestions, have resources for the new users, or want to help moderate, let me know!

In this vibrant community, we gather to celebrate the art and joy of naming. Be it bestowing a name upon a beloved pet, a cherished individual, or even an inanimate object, every naming endeavor holds a tale of creativity and resonance.

Our discussions transcend the mere act of naming; they embrace the diverse tapestry of cultures, histories, and emotions that names embody. We delve into the etymology, meanings, and anecdotes, discovering the profound significance that a name can carry.

I was using an RSS feed when I saw this post on Mastodon.

If you have a favourite webcomic comic artist, you could see if they have plans on creating accounts on Mastodon/Lemmy. Obviously don't harass them about it, but it would be nice to have more creators posting directly on these platforms.

So it seems this community was created around the time of the great migration and never took off. Well, I'm hoping to change that and grow this community to where it deserves to be. I love sous vide cooking and learning new recipes and tips to try. I'll do my best to post something most days and hope I can encourage members to as well. So please take part in the discussion and post tips, recipes, or anything else related to sous vide. Ask questions as well.

And please feel free to reach out or comment below with suggestions or ideas on how we can grow this community. I look forward to talking with you all in the comments!
