This is a space to explore and share ideas about how we shape the towns and cities we live in. Here we'll be making a place where we can openly discuss urban planning for not only large cities but also our small towns - including but not limited to transit, green spaces, walkability, traffic, and anything related to living in an urban environment.

Many of you already know me, I'm Scrubbles, passionate about Urbanism and excited to see what we can do with this community.

I welcome all posts about Urbanism - videos about it, articles, open questions, whatever you may like!

Minor housekeeping, rules will come as they are needed, my big two are "Don't be a dick" - meaning discussion is welcome and arguments are fine, but I don't tolerate personal attacks, and keep posts on target. Obviously these will evolve with the community.

Hopefully this will be my only "announcement" style post, but felt like we should kick it off somewhere. Welcome!

In an effort to boost text posts on Lemmy, I have created https://lemmy.world/c/MarkMyWords. Similar to the original subreddit with the same name, this is a community where users can come and share their bold predictions with everyone so they can have proof that they've called it before it happened.

I have created a couple of sampler posts in hopes of garnering engagement to get this community to start growing. I hope everybody reading this checks it out!

Disclaimer: I mod/curate two of these communities and contribute a lot to the other two (mega nerd, I know).

If you take a look at the above-mentioned communities, you'll see that they are pretty active (over a long period of time), my goal is to maintain the same level of content for this new strategy games community.

While we do have 2 other strategy games communities on the Threadiverse, it's mainly me posting (or occasional crossposts of my own initial share).

Nano is a fee-less, eco-friendly, near-instant cryptocurrency that was fairly distributed, and aiming real world adoption (made with daily life transactions in mind)

I recently said that I wished there was a community like this on Lemmy, so I decided to start one. This community reposts Norm Macdonald SNL Jokes from the Twitter account of the same name. These feature jokes from Norm's time as anchor of Weekend Update on Saturday Night Live. I go "there" to bring these jokes back so you don't have to!

I just recently am taking a dive into bandcamp and building up a collection of music for myself for the first time and I don't think I saw a bandcamp community on lemmy yet or I failed to search for it properly or something lol

Yes, this is another community for videos. So far it's just me posting there with a lot of educational/science/history content.

The main difference from other video comms? It's hosted on PieFed and can utilize any PieFed specific features going forward.

I just created the Lemmy community for experimental film. Feel free to post anything, including links to experimental films, chatting, and asking questions, as long as the topic is experimental film.

However, please be sure to mark any work that may cause epileptic seizures, such as flashing, as NSFW.

This is my first time moderating a forum, including Lemmy.
