I heard something new that realy makes you wander. If the earth is rotating as they say than how airplanes can go in straight line? If earth is moving under them they should land way off the desired destinacion.. 😮 They are not connected to the earth so rotacion shouldnt apply to them, it applyes only to cars and runing animals but not on airplains and bierds.. Also when you jump from baloon that is wery high up, you shouldnt fall straight down, if the earth is rotating it should move under you and you could newer fall on the same spot that you jumped over.. 🫢

I cant beleave this newer came to my mind for entire life.. 😵

This place seems dead. I was skimming some stuff to make a few posts, after posting a basic casual conversation, the negativity shut me down like usual. I am sitting here with 5 tabs and some interesting stuff, but I'm totally disinterested in trying or even spending any more time here this evening. What value does that add for anyone when this place is dying a slow death of disinterest and low engagement? I never add negativity. I only ignore and block. I never discourage because I know I would be shooting myself in the foot. Why is this not fundamentally standard logic for everyone. If you disagree about opinions, appreciate diversity and ignore or better yet discuss. Anonymous negativity to strangers is psychotic behavior that should never have existed in the first place. It is not normal. It is no different that walking up to a stranger in a supermarket and yelling at them for what they wear or how they talk. That is crazy stupid.

The 22nd amendment states "No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once."

Quantifying that, if he won in 2020, that would mean that he's been elected more than twice, making this upcoming term invalid. Couldn't the Democrats just say that he won in 2020, and then tell him he can't be president this time? What would be the repercussions to what Biden has done if that were to happen? What else am I missing? I'm hoping the hive mind here can help me be better informed.

I get that it's probably too complicated a subject for an ELI5, so if there are good videos or resources explaining it in less than half an hour, feel free to share.

Following the budget announcement in the UK, why is the media obsessed with the predicted growth being 0.2% lower, instead of applauding the much needed investment in our public services? Does it really matter that much?
