Twitter obviously has always had huge downsides, but if you heavily curated your feed, it was sometimes ok. There were socialist/communist circles that had decent discourse.

Recently (last few months), I’ve noticed almost EVERY thread is infested with combative libs.

I also see literal pro-Nazi/fascist threads. I’m talking about praising Hitler and calling for ethnic cleansing. They never seem to get taken down and are very active (often with little resistance).

These threads are not something I’ve dug for either. They are easy to stumble upon.

This is almost exactly what happened to Reddit, which is pretty much worthless now. I haven’t logged on in weeks.

I need to research more, but I know most social media companies have been infiltrated by ‘former’ US security stooges from the CIA etc.

I know anything remotely left wing gets suppressed by the algorithms, but I’m pretty convinced they are pushing hard right content.

I will add more in the future, I just want to gather more texts so I can put it in an order that makes sense. For example, I would still like to add in The Green Book, Bloodlies and Khrushchev Lied by Furr, Sakai’s Settlers, Blackshirts and Reds somewhere and if absolutely necessary I can add in more Marx and Engels and Lenin, but I feel that I have a good amount of them already. If you have any suggestions or any essential texts that could pertain to Black Liberation, Intersectionality or historical overviews, lmk, I’m tweaking this list to make the most sense to both a beginner and an experienced Marxist, i.e, Don’t make the rookie mistake of skipping DialMat, but also don’t bore people with DialMat before you explain the basics. Any suggestions lmk, thanks

You might remember 4 days ago Amnesty International published a report detailing Ukraine's use of civilians, which had a very predictable backlash among ukraine flag emojis and now they have apologized for it. The comments are full of people saying it was Russian propaganda and they're right to have backtracked. 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂

This plus amnesty int'l (an imperial NGO) turning on Zelensky makes me think we are nearing a turning point in Ukraine.

I feel like a broken record but I think it is really important to reinforce the fact that the online/mainstream prevalence of reactionary thought is a smokescreen for the fact that in the real world most people are at worst centrist and at best left-leaning. The right leaning commentators and astroturfers are disproportionately given political and media platforms

This is true in the US as much as it is in the global south. A good example is that when Roe v Wade was overturned Fox and CNN played the same 30 second clip of a handful of anti-abortion protesters (which somehow knew to be there the exact morning of the decision being announced... suspicious) celebrating on the steps of the supreme court and barely showed the MASSIVE pro-abortion protest at all.

I’ve become more acutely aware of this recently. Most Americans are functionally illiterate on most matters, yet they never admit they may not know.

Why would you think you know something you haven’t learned about? Saying you don’t know something is usually not a sign of weakness. This attitude needs to change.

Pic related: translation of a brazilian meme-page.

As we have seen, libs have lost their minds both at the Ukraine and Taiwan situation and they are hating whoe the state dpt. tells them to. Things like this will keep happening, obviously, and we will likely engage in discussions on the internet (and most importantly, in real life) about this.

I saw an post about someone asking how coukd we talk to people during protests ina succint way and, although we will not convert them overnight, I think I have an awnser for that post. I coundnt find it though and I have a question for you first world comrades, specially americans.

Do you think presenting the fact that in all of the modern day conflicts (like Taiwan, Palestine, Ukraine, etc) USA is involved could have any effect? If China really is that bad why aren't they helping Russia sending weapons to them or something? Why arent Russia and China meddling in the Israel/Palestine situation? Why is the US involved in every single one of these situations when they have so much problem to deal with internally?

I know some people would (again) call us Tankies and say "anti-americanism is not an ideology" but this can be easily dismissed by stating that US does this because loosing it's hegemony also means loosing their tight grip on the american people themselfs. The idea here is to link the american worker struggle to the anti-imperialist struggle. Is point out that the same government aiding neo-nazis in Ukraine is aiding neo-nazis in america, the same woman creating a fuss over Taiwan is a corrupt who is taking away from them even the most remote change they need and want. The same government killing us in the third world through their army is the one killing them through the cops, all while claiming they are here "to protect and serve". So opposing american imperialism is not just helping people out there in the world but also people here in the US.

Do you guys think talking like this could ease the conversation and maybe break through people in a quick way? Obviously its not "deprograming" them but it's kinda giving them the chance to do so. What do you think?
