I came across a marketplace listing HT system with model no AH63 02275 Receiver. There is no model no for whole set. I searched but couldn't find any spec sheet for this receiver model. Can anyone help me to identify to which HT model this receiver belongs TIA

I am running a 5.4 setup from my Denon X3700H, Adcom 555II and Emotiva Basx A3. The Adcom is running the 2 front L & R towers. The Emotiva in the Center and Surrounds.

My front towers are Polk RTI 12s. Should I bi-amp into the towers by running a second set of wires from the Denon bi amp channels into the L & R from the Denon while also using the Adcom in the other L&R speaker plugs? Or maybe run the Adcom AND the emotiva into the L& R, one into the uppers and one into the lowers, and just use the receiver for the 2 surround channels?

I had previously always assumed you needed equal amps and power channels running in a bi amp setup but apparently that's not true.

Just caught Society of Snow on Netflix - great film with pretty great atmos sound. It was also very well shot with some very beautiful visuals! It’s different enough from Alive for it to feel somewhat fresh.

Thinking about upgrading from my Denon AVR-X1400H. What would you recommend? I don’t need anything too fancy/expensive. But I would like a good one that is dependable. I have a pretty simple setup, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, AppleTV 4K, Hue Sync Box, to my Sony A95K. Which AVR would you go with?

I recently purchased a Sony A95L and when I fired up my Panasonic UB820, I notice white flickering throughout the playback of multiple discs in Dolby Vision (1917 and Lawrence of Arabia). After some quick research I ordered a new Zeskit Maya (48gbps) to rule out a bad cable but the white flickering is still present. I swapped inputs, unplugged and replugged in hdmi cables/AC power, and even cleaned the disc with no fix. The only thing I have found that works is to turn off Dolby Vision in the Panasonic settings and only use HDR but I really don’t like this as a solution.

I never had this issue with my Sony A80J but maybe I didn’t notice it with it being a smaller TV. Both player and TV are completely up to date and both went through factory resets during troubleshooting. Any other ideas because I am stumped!

Now, I know I can’t be the only one with a kid sooo what’d you guys use for midget control from your equipment? Something reversible that won’t leave holes in the custom oak entertainment center is most definitely preferred. 😅😅

Hi everyone, I really hope someone can assist me with my issue. It’s driving me crazy and I have changed so many settings back and forth to no avail. I tried searching but didn’t find anything solid to resolve the issue. I did find something Googling and did a factory reset on the player but it didn’t help.

My issue is that for some reason 4K BD discs or normal Blu-ray Discs won’t play Dolby TrueHD. Dolby Atmos and DTS both work fine. I have the player set to Bitstream. My AVR will just say Dolby Surround. The playback information shows the TrueHD track playing.

If I change the player to PCM and let the player decode I can hear the audio is totally different and using the speakers.

It’s really odd that the bitstream setting the AVR will display Atmos on the screen but the Dolby TrueHD won’t.

I watched Oppenheimer yesterday without issue and tonight watching Reservoir Dogs I had the issue. Other discs I’ve had this happen and I always make sure I select the correct audio track when setting up the movie.

The gear

TV: LG OLED65B6 BD Player: Panasonic DP-UBB20 AVR: Sony STR-DH790 (5.1.2 setup)

Thank you for reading. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I’m currently pointing to the AVR being the issue.

Hey ho!

So I’m surprising my dad with a TV in a few months, who uses a 50” Vizio V series as his main TV. We went to Best Buy a few days ago to drool at things, and the no brainer bang for buck option, in our book, was the 65 inch Sony X90L.

Problem is how wide the base is, and the American version doesn’t have a narrow base. Wall mounting isn’t an option, and our TV stand is 47” flat, from what I see, that’s 5/8ths of an inch short.

So, four options:

  1. Go with a similar priced TV with a smaller stand (if so, what, that X90L looks phenomenal.)
  2. Get the X90L and spend an additional 200ish bucks on a TV stand.
  3. Throw that 200 bucks into the budget and keep looking. The X93L has a narrow stand configuration, and there’s also obviously OLED’s like the LG B3, C3, and the Sony A80L. Maybe those will be marked down to 1200/1300bucks as they’re being phased out, in which case, huzzah. (I’m banking on the X90L being a grand or under when it comes time to pull the trigger.)
  4. Cross my fingers and hope that this year’s version has the narrow stand option.

Such an odd position to be in for 5/8ths of an inch but here we are. What’s the best thing to do, reddit!

My Sony DA7ES is about to die after 11 years of almost daily use by me and I got it used.

Looking for something to replace it. I'll mostly try to find used deals again but looking for something that'll last long and has good audio output.

I've Aperion intimus 5 tower and center speakers for mid and center. Wharfedale 10.1 diamond for rears. No subwoofer yet. Towers are 6ohm.

I've been out of touch with if all new amps can drive 6ohm speakers well and what all things are new. Basically totally lost at this point.

So, any recommendations for this setup?

Edit: Forgot budget: $5-600. Can go a bit higher if it makes a significant difference. In California.

Hello I have a question on how to connect my devices. I have:

  • denon x 4800H AVR
  • Sony A 80k TV
  • PlayStation5

Should I connect the PlayStation to the receiver and connect the receiver to the TV's arc input?

Sorry if this is a dumb question but haven't done this in a few years, and just want to confirm before I tackle this.
