I just got a new 75 inch x93l and the included stand is not tall enough for my center channel to fit.

Currently my center channel is 14 inches off the ground (from center of driver) and 8 inches below the tv (from center of driver to first pixels). The closest the center channel could ever be to the tv would be about 4 inches from center. Will I see a large enough improvement if I move it closer to the tv? I’m hoping to avoid shelling out $150+ for a new stand.

Here is a picture of the setup Imgur

Are there any projectors or input devices that allow you to limit to a portion of the projectable area for gaming? If I have a 120" screen, I would love to be able to project to a 40" screen at the bottom instead.

Screenshot attached from u/maccagames TikTok showing off Samsung Ark's similar functionality.

I'm debating getting rid of my TV in the living room and projecting on to the wall instead. Mainly due to larger screen size for movies/TV along with better viewing angles since it'll sit further back than the TV console I have now.

Currently running a 5.1.2 setup with two Polk Owm3 speakers doing atmos duty.

Now moving up to 5.1.4 so need to add two more atmos speakers but these have to go in the ceiling so can’t just buy two more OWM3s….any suggestions on a closely matching Polk in ceiling speaker?

The OWM3s have 1 inch tweeters and I believe 4 1/2 inch mids, so looking for something that’s close acknowledging the sound differences between an in ceiling vs on wall speaker.

We are considering Sony X93L or A95L, but are open to other brands recommendations.

Our use is 80% gaming, 20% streaming videos - Apple TV, Netflix, YT, etc.

The environment. A basement room with windows (lights blocking curtains). Some ambient lights behind the TV and along the ceiling. TV will be used mostly at night/late evenings. No side viewing. Denon AVR-S970h 5.1 home theatre setup.

Looking to upgrade 65” Bravia X950G with 75/77” TV with HDMI 2.1, 120hz refresh rate, and a low latency. The number of HDMI 2.1 ports is not important - using AVR ports for all inputs.

OLED or LED? X93l vs OLED TVs?

Our main concern is the OLED screen burnout. The TV will be on for 3+ hrs a day, quite often with the static elements on the screen. Hence the x93L as an option. Should we be concerned?

If OLED then Sony, or other brands?

We are leaning towards Sony because that’s the brand we’ve been using successfully for years. Also, our primary gaming is on PS5.

We are not familiar with other brands but we hear/read good reviews on LG and Samsung. Open for recommendations.

Price is no object.

So, I’ve been pretty disappointed with my Sony core 3.0 setup with Denon S750H AVR.

I went over to my friend’s place and was shocked to hear how much better everything sounded on his 5.1, but primarily with dialogue coming out of the Micca MB42X vs my Sony SSCS8. He also has a higher end AVR , the Denon X1700h, not sure if that factors in.

Am I insane? Or is the Micca that good despite being a budget center?

Our room dimensions are pretty similar and have a pretty similar seating distance, so I felt like I was going crazy.

Few months ago, I ordered few Monoprice Caliber 6.5" in-ceiling speakers ( some for dolby atmos and remaining for music paired with Sonos Amp).

For Atmos duties, they are fine. However for music, I feel they are too thin in sound reproduction. I am thinking two options :

  1. Upgrade the speakers to Sonos Architectural speakers or 8" speakers such as Klipsch CDT 5800
  2. Buy a Sonos Sub mini to pair with the monoprice speakers

Which way would you prefer? This is purely for music

I watch older films quite a bit more often than modern films, and I have been thinking about how I can optimize my home theater for an authentic experience. I have considered things like a duel crt projector setup, vintage audio setup and analog media formats. What would you do to get an authentic experience watching older films? Is modern equipment better at screening all films?

Got this unit new 4 weeks ago. I noticed now going thru the menu it feels quite sluggish. Besides a factory reset any other suggestions to look into? Also not sure if related but my zone 2 keeps turning on apparently, and then auto turns off after some amount of time. I don't use zone 2 at all and would prefer to disable this. I'm thinking my hdmi cec is doing this. Anyways it's probably not related but wanted to mention just in case. Thanks all

Edit. To clarity on the menu slowness. The clicking around in a menu is fine but when I select anything (ie video), it shows the heading of video but the options within it take a good 5 seconds or so to show.

A few years ago I put together a home theatre system with the TSR700 from Costco as my AVR. I’ve been really happy with it as I mainly use it for streaming and music. But I bought a Panasonic 820 and want to start using it for 4K Blu Ray movies. I read the 700 doesn’t support 4K/120. But honestly I’m not sure completely what that means and therefore I’m not sure if it means it won’t support 4K BluRay movies.

My TV is the LG C1 and for HDMI cables I’m using Zeskit Maya 2.1 8K HDMI Cable 6.5ft 4K120Hz 48Gbps for eARC Soundbar Ethernet Gaming 144Hz Certified Ultra High Speed HDR VRR HDCP 2.2 2.3 Compatible with Dolby Vision Atmos Apple TV Xbox Series X PS5.

Is this what I need to get the most out of the 4K BluRay experience?

Do I need to upgrade the AVR to Denon S760H?

Hi all,

I think title says it all - browsed the whole web / audio forums, but I never found a "acceptable" solution. Has anyone found Center & Rear speakers, matching the sound signature of the Linton 85?

Thanks!

I’ve got a simple 3.1 set up, Subwoofer worked perfectly fine for about a year then suddenly noticed no sound coming through subwoofer. Tried everything I could, adjusting settings etc… even plugged another subwoofer in to make sure it wasn’t the sub. Nothing has worked. Any advice before I purchase a new receiver? Thanks so much.

So I chose to celebrate new year with my friends and they brought this DVD system. There's a jack to phones with 3.5mm but there's no playback when i start the music on. If someone can help till tomorrow I'll appreciate it a lot. :)
