It looks like I can get the s10e for $150 vs the es10 for $250. Is the es worth the price difference? These would just be for surrounds to create a 5.1 setup.

Thanks!

I found a HSU RESEARCH Vtf-3 Mk4 12" second hand for $400 or I can join a power buy group for an RSL 12s for $670. I know the RSl is pretty well reviewed around here, but the HSU seems like a beast. What do you all think is best move here?

My use case is in a 15x13 sealed room and the media breakdown is 50% movies, 40% video games and 10% music. It’ll be running through a denon 1700h AVR with kef q150 L and R and a q250 center.

Hi guys,

Kind of a dumb question lol

My receiver says 165watt per channel and I just ordered 145watt speakers!

Will that be ok or did I make a mistake? I've never matched the wattages in my life!

Thanks and I hope everyone has an excellent day!!😊

I have a yamaha v6a (tsr-700), a ps5, and i just got a series x. Currently the series x is still in the box, and the ps5 has been connected to the free 2.1 port of my sony x95k television (the other occupied by the arc line to the avr). Unfortunately, the x95k only has two 2.1 ports.

If i remember correctly, i read something that said that one console did not perform entirely too well when connected to an avr (or perhaps this particular avr). Does anybody have any advice on which console would find the fewest drawbacks when connected to the avr?

by the way, yes, the board has been upgraded, and yes, i do not need reminding that the "upgrade" yamaha installed is half assed. im just looking for the most optimal connection set up, if there even is one.

Also, if this is the wrong subreddit for this question, could someone direct me to the right place, please?

I've got a pretty nice set of NHT-VT2 towers along with matching center channel and surrounds. I've had this setup for quite a while. I recently upgraded my AVR to a Yamaha Aventage A6A and have been wondering if it would be worth doing a speaker upgrade (looking at something like SVS).

Thoughts?

Hey guys, just bought a Denon dht 316 with a sub for use with my Ps5.

I haven't started yet with connecting and frankly have no idea where to begin. How would you guys connect them?

I have a 5.2.4 system with the following speakers: * L&R: DLS Flatbox XXL * C: DLS Flatbox XL * Surround back: Klipsch RP-600m * Top: DLS IC611 * Subwoofers: DLS Flatsub 8.2

Onkyo TX-NR7100 as the receiver.

The wire is 2x1.5mm2 Oehlbach speaker wire with runs upwards of 5m. They should support up to around 100W, AFAIK.

ISSUE: Now, when the volume gets too loud, the receiver shuts off and shows an error message of “Check speaker wire” when restarted.

I figured I need to upgrade my receiver to something that supports a separate amp (looked at Onkyo TX-RZ50 & Emotiva BasX A7). However, when I contacted a shop in my country, the guy said that the receiver is fine but I need thicker speaker wire. Also added that the ohm rating for my speakers and receiver don’t match - is this relevant? Now I’m a bit confused… While thicker speaker wire would have less resistance, in my mind, the power limit of my receiver should still be easily used up with loud explosions playing through all speakers.

The speaker wire is bit tricky to replace and I know I should’ve used thicker wire from the start, but I was a beginner and another local audio store guy said that 1.5mm2 is plenty, so that’s what I went with.

MY QUESTION IS: do I need a beefier receiver/receiver-amp combo or do I need thicker speaker wire?

Thanks in advance!
