I currently have a 58" Philips LED Ambilight and am fairly happy with it it, like the ambilight but would like to upgrade to better picture and larger screen. I hear OLED is best but there's a good deal on a 75" Mini-Led or is the 65" OLED just better all round? Or anything else on that website that is cheaper or similar price? My budget is 1500-1600 Max (but ideally 900-1200 would be better lol). At the moment, my viewing distance is only about 5-7 feet, but I might position it further away.

I recently bought a tilting Sanus mount with extender arm. It’s a little wobbly and I don’t like it. I’d like to change to a fixed mount. But I’d also prefer not to have to redo the wall bracket. If I just replace the mount arms on the TV side with fixed arms, will they fit the wall bracket I already have on?

Hi all, I purchased an RX-V4A Subwoofer today as I only had the budget to buy the AV Receiver now and then add speakers later.

However I have a crappy DVD 5.1 system where I'm borrowing the speakers for the Yamaha Receiver, all the speakers plug in fine via speaker wire but the Sub input on the Receiver is RCA but my sub only has two clips for red and black speaker wire.

Question is, can I just buy an RCA to speaker wire, or like some google results are explaining I'll need to buy an Amp and/or a new active sub?

Trying to save the most money here just to get it operational until I can save up again for some nicer speakers + sub.

Thanks in advance.

I’m looking to start a basic 5.1 home theater system as currently I am just using audio from my tv.

I’m thinking about purchasing a used Denon AVR 1513 through FB marketplace. Seller says it’s only been used 4-5 times since purchased (was apparently in a room they rarely used) and is asking $80. He can’t verify everything works as he already sold the speakers for it. He has good ratings, but taking him at his word makes me more hesitant. If I could talk him down to $60 does it seem worth it?

Decided my post-Christmas gift to myself is going to be a subwoofer for my home theatre room. I think I’m sold on the RSL speedwoofer 10s mkii. Don’t really want to spend beyond the $500 ballpark and it’s a small room anyway. (Pairing with a set of KEF Q150’s which give the room a good shake on their own). I see this sub recommended pretty frequently so I’m sure it will do the job, but they are out of stock at the moment. Does anyone have any experience with how long I might be waiting for them to restock? I can wait a bit but I’m looking forward to adding a sub into my setup, I’d like to not be waiting around 6 months or so lol.

I think the black 10s mkii is available in a bundle with a pair of their CG3M’s for an extra $200 or so. Any opinions on these? I don’t really want to spend an extra $200, but I’m open to hearing what everyone thinks.

Thanks in advance, looking forward to hearing about experiences. Any additional advice on my setup is welcome as well, happy to answer any questions.

I recently got a front firing sub but I can only hear it when I'm directly infront of it like sitting on my couch.

If I stand up and walk away, I can't hear anything from the sub. Is this normal for front firing ?

I'm used to sub that fill the room with bass so I don't know if my front firing one is abnormal or normal.

For context, I can hear my pc Sub from anywhere around the room.

Thanks!

I have limited room available to me to place my Home Theater . This seems to be the best spot in a basement solution. Is this a bad idea for Sound quality?

I have small kids, and want to eliminate chance of tv falling on any one. wondering if its safer to mount the 85 Samsung neo qled or leave it on its stand? Is wall mounting more secure and less likely to fall off compared to using its stand? Or should I use stand with straps.

I know this player/line is fairly notorious for playback issues and I'd really be better served swapping for a Panasonic (looking at the UB154P or UB420 - though both lack Dolby Vision and the 820 is a touch out of my current price range). My issue with the X700M (so far) is that when I pause a disc for any period; on resume the audio is plagued by random but pervasive dropouts. This continues until I escape to the menu and use the scene selection to get back to where I was in the film. My setup is the Sony X700M, a Vizio M51A-H6 5.1 sound bar, and a TCL 75R655 75" screen. Any troubleshooting ideas anyone can think of? Is this an issue with the X700M anyone else has had? The X700M is still within the Amazon return window - so maybe the simplest response is to move on to another player. Do I really need Dolby Vision; I was trying to get the most out of my setup - but maybe the other HDR methods are just as good. Also worried about butting up to some of the other x700 issues down the line like freezing or crashing. Sorry about the rambling - so freeforming thoughts. Appreciate everyone's consideration.

23 4*4 1 inch 703 sound panels for $50, obviously needs some new fabric but seems like an okay deal?

The seating area I have to work with is against the rear (and left) wall. Room is 15' wide, by 25; long. Would mounting satellite speakers on the wall higher up and pointing them down give me the same effect (or similar) ?

I’ve had a Panasonic UB420 4K Blu-ray player for a few years now, and it has worked incredibly well on my old 2016 Samsung 4K TV throughout that time.

I recently just purchased and setup my new Samsung S90C Oled TV, and although everything else works smoothly (including the PS5 and Apple TV), my 4K player does not!

For starters, (it’s hard to explain) there are largish white flickers constantly buzzing around on any dark imagine. And secondly, the picture and audio will drop out every so often to a black screen (no white flickers when this happens). I never experienced anything like this on the old TV and am not sure what to do…

I’ve tried switching the 4K player to different HDMI ports within the TV, but the issue persists.

Like I said, the PS5 and Apple TV work well. They’re using HDMI 2.1 cables though, whereas the 4K player is using a 2.0 cable. Could this be the issue? Is there something else I’m missing here?

Once again, I never had this problem before with this 4K player, and really appreciate any help!

Hi all, could I get some general advice please. I'm wiring up the below build and wondered if I should allow for a ceiling projector as marked in green. I've always had LCD TV's up to now. Height is 2.8-3m aprox.

Not even sure the distance of the projector from the screen etc.. would 3m be about right? Are there any good design websites? I'd prefer the projector further back as I might add a starlight ceiling panel later above the corner sofa.

Should I wire mains power, hdmi, ethernet and optical cabling to that position?

Any tips or advice much appreciated.

I'm thinking of purchasing a Toshiba 65" X9900MP OLED for 2500 AUD.

Would mainly be watching YouTube and playing games.

Any recent experience with Toshiba, either good or bad?
