Have I been living under a rock, or just been lucky not to experience it yet?

On 14 Jan signed up to one of MFB’s ‘come back here’s 50% off’ subscription deals after not having an order since Sept 24. Cool. Set to charge 20 Jan and deliver following Monday 27th Jan.

15 Jan get one of their ‘grab a last minute bag for 20% off’ text messages for delivery 20 Jan. Cool. As per their terminology have to sign up for a one off subscription.

Today get an email saying that the first ‘come back’ 50% off discount has been removed because I have multiple subscriptions and no longer meet the criteria because it’s for new customers or those who haven’t ordered for a while. Why is that? Because of the discounted bag I ordered following one of their texts on 15 Jan.

Ring MFB, they are adamant it is against their t&cs and will do nothing about it. Don’t see the issue with it, even though their system put it through. Customer service completely patronising. Apparently the business is now better at picking this stuff up.

So disappointed - won’t be ordering again. Put up with years repeatedly never receiving the correct ingredients or codes not applying properly but it was always rectified in a friendly and prompt manner.

Never again. So has this changed generally or did I get a bad egg today?

Any people in the country who run ai scams are evil. Scum of the earth. My grandma, my poor innocent grandma who has struggled with her weight for years got an "ad" for a weight loss pill that was created with ai to look like a clip where the news reporters on one news were talking about how incredible it is. She spent $400. She's going to call her bank to see if she can dispute it, and considering that the company created an illegal ad I'm sure she'll get the money back - but she's devastated. Absolutely evil. I hate this new generation of ai.

I'm unable to work anymore due to my faulty body. I don't qualify for WINZ as my partner earns too much, but not quite enough to support both of us comfortably on one income. I wouldn't mind trying to work so we can afford rent, but all of the disabled finding work programmes seem to be solely through WINZ and you can't use them if you're not on the benefit. I've tried applying for jobs but I do need to declare my disabilities straight off the bat as I can't be expected to do things an able bodied person can do, which has lead to no job offers.

Is there any kind of support for people like me? Earn too much for WINZ but not enough to be secure. And I can't go on ACC. I feel stuck and hopeless.

I've recently had someone creep around my tent while I was hunting deer in doubtfull sound. He approached my tent in the middle of the night and started walking around my tent. He also nicked some gear that was hung up to dry

I was wondering if other people had experienced similar things out in the bush

Anyone else noticed the absolute obscene amount of gambling ads right now? Just watched 20 minutes of YouTube and got 2 betcha ads, 1 TAB ad and 1 online poker ad…

Terrible

Plain and simple. I wanna help my Nan get rid of the wild pigs. Shes a widow and lives far north and cant afford to move. She also cant afford a dog. she has a dislocated hip that she also cant afford to fix and I live in BOP so I can't stay and chase them off for her. They terrorize her garden and eat her crops.

How can I help her get rid of them? Please no cheeky comments about her living or money situation.

Only 5 minutes and already some amazing helpful comments, thank you so much whanau 🫶

Honestly so frustrated with the lack of women's clothing style options in NZ. Basically every clothing store only sells fast fashion - plastic clothes - but at such expensive prices. Not only that but I feel that all the current clothing designs are super ugly ESPECIALLY the options found in Zara and H&M although all the other options available are not far behind - all cropped, see-though, potato sack looking dresses, weirdly rectangle shaped clothing. Maybe this style of clothes would look 'interesting' on a runway but trying to find a stylish top or dress that can actually be worn in public is ridiculously difficult.

When there are decent designs, 9/10 times it's made of 100% polyester or something variety of synthetic fabric. Otherwise, it seems brands like to reserve the natural fibres for unflattering potato sacks.

I feel as though other countries just have better access to decent wearable clothes (or at least more variety) so why can't new Zealand (I already know why but still 🙄)?

Bit of a rant but yeah 😞

Typical.

Saw this on a Australian reddit group and read some interesting responses, so thought it would be interesting to hear our own stories.
