I know diddly squat about the building industry. My wife and I were discussing the ongoing problem of new builds not being water tight (e.g the Kingsland apartments currently in the news).

I don't remember this being a problem when I was a youngster. Why did it suddenly become an (ongoing) issue and what changed?

If you’re old enough, you might recall that 40 years of neoliberalism has led to the opposite of what we were promised. The commanding heights of our economy have been largely sold off to foreigners under the guise of “kiwi investors”, while the banksters who promoted these policies have made hundreds of millions (billions?) of dollars from fleecing us of our wealth and making us buckle under the weight of private monopolies and cartels. Those banksters continue to fund political parties and Astro turfs that gaslight the nation. Their ‘free market’ is a market free to exploit the public. Their free market is the opposite of Classical Liberalism. Their ‘free market’ is one dominated by landlords and the 1%. To see how we got here, and where NACT is taking us, read the link below, and then let’s discuss David Seymour’s lies. He’s playing a blinder for his donors. But, theyve trained and resourced him well. He’s on the gravy train, and he’s making sure we don’t even have scraps “To value liberty for the wealthy minority above all else and enshrine it in the nation’s governing rules, as Calhoun and Buchanan both called for and the Koch network is achieving, play by play, is to consent to an oligarchy in all but the outer husk of representative form.” https://www.ineteconomics.org/perspectives/blog/meet-the-economist-behind-the-one-percents-stealth-takeover-of-america#%3A%7E%3Atext=MacLean+explains+that+Virginia%27s+white%2Cof+influence+began+to+widen

I think we’ve all seen by now how other subreddits are banning any links leading to x.com in light of recent events and thought it might be a good idea here too.

Musk gets money every time they are clicked. If you want to show Twitter content maybe just take a screenshot? Maybe a poll would be nice for the community to decide. I think many people would agree with me.

Edit: Bluesky is a great alternative if people are against banning X links. Even for you doubters in the comments, having to avoid links all the time is just annoying especially if you don’t have an account. Go search up “banning x links” into Reddit. It’s the entire platform agreeing to do this. Throwing personal insults at me is just pathetic.

Edit 2: Yes this is a new account. I heard about what happened and created it to get the word out. I don’t give two shits about karma or whatever it is on here.

It's happened to me like 4-5 times now, I'll be thinking I'm about to have a nice quiet and not-crowded bus ride then boom, 'sorry your gold coach has been cancelled, please enjoy your stuffy hot humid ride on this bus from before the year 2000, no wifi btw even if it says free wifi on the outside of the bus.'

It's really shitty since I wear masks on public transportation to not get myself/others sick, and being packed in like a tin of sardines doesn't help with that.

Why do they do this? Is it just to cut costs?

Owner gets a $500 fine! Can be paid off I’m sure at $5 per week no doubt. The dog went in to attack a child before drawing blood biting the child’s mother. Why do we have such slack dog control, any dog that attacks should be removed from the community, ownership of animals should be banned if it’s clear someone cant/won’t control or manage them and ffs some breeds should just be banned? Second dog attack article this week, an elderly German tourist couple attacked buy a group of out of control dogs at a reserve, owners unable to manage them and not contained. Why are we so laxed about this.
