Puppy Linux
This is a casual Lemmy for Puppy Linux users to hang out.
Puppy Linux is not one gnu-linux distro, but a family of similar distros with shared principals and similar features. The project was originally started in 2003 Barry Kauler. From the Puppy Linux website:
"Puppy Linux is a collection of multiple Linux distributions, built on the same shared principles, built using the same set of tools, built on top of a unique set of puppy specific applications and configurations and generally speaking provide consistent behaviours and features, no matter which flavours you choose."
In a general overview, Puppy Linux is a gnu-linux distro made for old computers or computers with weak hardware constraints, that is very small and very lightweight by default while still giving end users a sort of "full GUI desktop experience" without being slow and bloated by use of purposefully made small applications, the efficient JWM desktop environment, and booting the entire OS into the machines RAM.
