The photo was sent to the NY Times by her father "Thomas D’Alesandro Jr., a prominent politician in Baltimore" who served as mayor for 12 years, to announce her engagement to Paul Pelosi.

She hadn't changed her last name yet, so the photo was filed under her maiden name "Nancy D'Alesandro".

She looks so young in that '60s hairdo!

I noticed a bug bite on my leg today. It's surprising to me because I thought it was currently too cold for mosquitos to live. Where I live, we do frequently get mosquitos in the summer, but not typically when it's this cold.

Also, the bite is in a unique spot. It's right below my knee. they typically prefer my hands/arms or my ankles.

Real estate firm Kilroy Realty acquired the (current Flower Market) property with plans for an office development...'

...a financial agreement (the Flower Market has) with Kilroy is dependent on the future construction of the originally planned office development.

Ruh roh!

Why does San Francisco have vintage streetcars on Market Street?

It happened because of this guy.

As probably everyone knew already; par for the course ever since the Breed administration decided the word of the Trump Supreme Court outweighs basic human rights.

tl;dr: when encampments are 'swept', people's personal belongings are not being tagged and stored for them to retrieve later, in violation of City policy. Presumably they're going straight to the landfill.

I believe this was censored on reddit. This post isn't a pro-murder post. Mostly wondering how they put this sign up safely.

I woke up around 6am this morning due to a tornado warning alert. felt the whole apartment shake. watched the wind gust, and a poor guy on an electric scooter riding during the event.

I went outside around 8am, saw some minor damage. and some large branches down the street. I live on a street full of Chinese Elms, which often drop large branches on cars.

I didn't need the alert, but do think homeless people, and people that work early on Saturday mornings benefited from it, so I'm okay with the alert.

How did it go for you?

The last day is supposedly Feb 7th, 2025

The usual corporate excuse of excessive theft (see Walgreens), with a lucrative sale of the lot to a developer looming.

Supervisors pass law to cut city fees for cash registers, candles, extended hours, et al.

Maybe we can have a city that doesn’t shut down at 9 pm…
