It always sort of bugged me how there was no answer to how many planets, or, hell, how many solar systems there are withing the sector. The two real details about it is that Koprulu is around 60k lightyears away from Earth and that it's on the edge of our galaxy. At least that's the information I managed to find.

While I am agreeing right now that both have to change simultaneously( we had the maps way to long) it would be nice that in future the maps cycle out not simultaneously that balance cycle.

Considering we get new maps every six months and also balance patches every 6 months, it would be nice that the balance patch would be 3 months later than the map change. ( I know probably that we cannot expect that frequency )

This would make it easier to gauge balance and also have more changes to the game (things change more often but not as drastically )

Any thoughts ?

So hear me out. Im talking primarily about story. So hots took kerrigan, reinfested her (but good this time), introduced and reintroduced several characters that would flesh out the zerg faction's hero roster, and concluded the arcturus mengsk arc.

Part of the problem that it had to deal with was that there was zero personalities left for the zerg that they could build a campaign around. And part of that is kinda on the first game.

Episode 2 of starcraft had 5 characters the silent you, zasz, the overmind, kerrigan, and daggoth. And really only 2 of them are active in moving the story. Zasz 1 contribution is dying. Daggoth tells ya to kill garm brood, but doesnt appear in any active role after. Leaving the overmind and kerrigan as your 2 actual plot drivers. The overmind dies ala tassadar leaving you with just kerrigan.

Brood wars zerg campaign requires everyone around kerrigan to either drink the stupid juice or to develop short term amnesia. Because she betrays everyone like 4 times in a row (aldaris, stukov, fenix and duke, and rashagal). She kills daggoth, not that he was doing anything independently, besides becoming a new overmind. Then she gets betrayed by duran. Leaving her the queen of the universe, but also the only major personality that any storywriter could use for starcraft 2.

I feel like most of the people who really get on heart of the swarm are mad that kerrigan was allowed to live. Which there is something to that i suppose. But if they killed her off.. i feel like they'd have to start starcraft 2 with the zerg. And have her go after mengsk, right off the bat.

Also side thing. I found heart of the swarms mission variety to be a lot of fun. Especially the one where ya take over the ship from the inside.

Anyways thank ya for listening to this ramble, hope yall have a good day.

I was listening to Artosis talk about poorly designed units of SC2, and suggested a revert for some units. What are units that were poorly designed in BW that were designed better in SC2?

My take: It may be controversial, but I don't think juggling should be a thing in either game with a long wait penalty once dropped to have the person commit to their decision for more than 2 seconds to attack and not be vulnerable to being attacked. I don't like the reaver or storm drops of BW, and the ease of picking up and leaving. I think that's poor design.

I'd say SC2 widow mines are better in this way because they have to commit to burrowing, but other units could also be penalized more by dropping. Slow drop speed isn't nothing, but it's not enough.

Option A: Time dilation. You perceive time at a faster rate by 25%. For what should feel like 4 seconds to everyone, itll feel like 5 seconds to you. This applies to in-game experience only.

Option B: Enhanced field of vision. All units and buildings you control have an expanded vision/sight of 3. Example: Zealot's 9 will be 12. Does not affect attack range.

Option C: Foot pedal hot keys. You have invisible pedals by your feet that expand your range of hotkey. 4 extra hotkeys.

Option D: Worker Spy Network. You are always aware of how many workers the opponent has and how many are mining/gassing. Their location is not known to you, just quantity and productivity.

Option E: Archon mode. A digital clone of you with your skill level is able to control your units and buildings alongside you. The clone has the memories of you up until the moment its created. Unable to verbally or mentally communicate with the clone. Clone last 2 mins. 10 min cooldown.

Option F: The Golden Rule. When you acquire a base and fully saturate it, 4 mineral patches will convert to gold patches. Activates upon full saturation.

Your opponents and audiences are oblivious to your powerup. Which powerup ability will land you the highest chance of success to beat the serrals, marus, and clems of the world in a premiere tournament?

The Nexus should emit its own power field. It's a friggin' Nexus for crying out loud!

According to Aligulac, it's been nearly 10 years since Protoss was the monthly leading race since 2015.

Since then, protoss has never taken the spot, and the gap has only widened with each patch.

People seem to think Protoss has been weak only in the last 2 years or so. It's not true.

I love how people used to use this metric when 3 races were alternating their positions in this metric but when protoss became a permanent lagging race, people just conveniently ignored it since then.

I know burrow exists, but any pro terran isn't going to let you do this. They'll see the burrowed animation, or just scan/position well enough to prevent it 95% of the time.

Whereas if you made speed droplords, they're tankier + it would be hard to tell which one had the infestor, so it seems like you could more reliably land fungals. Since it prevents EMP, you could throw them during fights more too!
