I've always had trouble warming up to ravagers and disruptors. I just feel sad when they're on the screen in pro games. But, when I think about it, I either outright dislike the rest or I don't like how they have shaped the game.

Between adepts, disruptors, liberators, cyclones, lurkers, and ravagers, are there any you do like? If you had to stick up for some of them, what are the positive contributions that you think they bring to the game?

Uthermal recently posted about this, and I have to say, I agree with his take. I still watch SC2 often, and it’s hard not to notice that the same group of players—Clem, Maxpax, Byun, Dark, and herO—are dominating the EPT replacement cups. Clem and Maxpax, in particular, seem to be taking most of the wins. Finals are often PvT matchups, and the openings have become pretty repetitive: 3-gate, 4-gate, Phoenix builds.

Clem facing Rogue or Dark used to be a rare treat in smaller tournaments, but now it’s almost a weekly occurrence. The only two pros who consistently skip these weekly events are Maru and Serral, which makes their matches feel more unique when they do show up. For everyone else, seeing them so frequently takes away some of the excitement when they face off in a premier tournament.

I really hope we get a patch and a new map pool soon. ESL needs to step up and make an announcement. Ideally an announcement with a two-year contract and a clear end date for the scene, rather than the uncertainty of yearly renewals. That would give more structure and proper closure to the competitive landscape.

Replaying Starcraft Brood War has made me realize how innovative and cool just about every unit is.

In your opinion, which unit did they not manage it with? I don't mean a unit that is bad to use but which has a concept that is just boring.

(I mean units from both the original Starcraft and the Brood War expansion)

Every other game I play against a dad who either has it in his name or has to pause for his kids/wife. I could never imagine my parents playing video games thats crazy to imagine my dad playing, especially a sweaty game like starcraft lol
