You start the game with this number of bonus minerals. I picked Serral because he is the greatest of all time. You may substitute bonus minerals for any other handicap. You may not substitute Serral.

So I'm a new player and obviously my micro sucks big fat nuts. I've been playing around here and there but I've noticed that 90% of the time my games end in "bigger number better person" type fights.

I figured this game would be more skirmish based, having a few different squads of dudes that you control over the map, attacking from different angles, flanking. Yada yada yada.

I don't really see this type of gameplay emerging too much especially because of this scenario:

Let's say you have a distraction main force and a flanking secondary force.

Let's say you successfully distract and your flankers come in, the opponent takes opponents away to deal with this flank and the flank dies. Now keep in mind you're trying to control both simultaneously and can't really do fine control maneuvers at my level. Most likely your main force survived but your flank dies, now they just bum rush your base and take it right?

I'm just wondering if the game doesnt work like this because of my elo or if it's just not super valuable to control strike squads

The widow mine targetting color change is one of those great adjustments that "technically it should not affect top level because they should have been able to split anyways" but is a great QoL change for everyone all around.

My suggestion is to go even further beyond. Splash spells that target a unit but give you the opportunity to split/dodge collateral damage should _all_ have something similar. It's a great design concept in general. What do you guys think of:

  1. Anti-armor missile, during the targetting phase, highlights the unit it is targetting in orange.

  2. Parasitic bomb, during the duration of its effect, will make the targetted unit stand out even more (flashing green highlight?)

  3. any such targetted units: mine, parastic bomb, anti-armor missile - have increased click priority, so that if you have clumped up units in the same space you can still click the targetted unit to split off instead of relying on RNG as to whether your unit is top of the stack

  4. (I'm questionable on this) unit pbomb status shows on the unit status frame so you can select the parasitized target from there

I'm aware this is a nerf to late game zerg, which, if im reading the room, is a good thing, right?

Wondering how the skill level has climbed through the years. I'm interested in checking out some older matches.

So, my friend made an app that is supposed to help me with my macro but he said not to use it on ranked games or tournaments. This app basically tells me to macro every few seconds

Now the problem is, I already do a poor man's version of this by using the music app on my phone to play an alarm every couple of seconds. Have I been cheating already?

See, I am thinking about it, it doesn't make sense. He says anything that I can't use on the stage of GSL I shouldn't be using in tournaments or ranked games. What about SpawningTool? That's technically assisting you, can you use that? Can I not use his app that yells at me to macro? Can I not use the music app on my phone?

So I'd like a community take on this one.

A year ago people use to complain about the queen balance a lot. Didn't hear any whining about that specific unit in a while
