Sure, or they could even protest separately at home where no one can see or hear them. That'll be effective too!

You do realize that most public places are not on university campuses, right? And that protesting on campus is likely to only reach other students? And that most people are not university students?

They were protesting the universities themselves though. Kinda hard to do that if you're not at the university.
