One of my least favourite things that Americans do is ask why characters are speaking with a British accent, in a game made by a non-American developer based in a country that does not have English as the first language.

They did it with Wukong and now they're doing it with STALKER. Why do we let the yanks run the world, again?

Not that I like to generalise but a lot of them don't comprehend that the rest of the world outside of the US exist.

Time zones and release dates tend to confuse them as well.

Even within America there would be arguments. What American accent should characters have? There is so much prejudice there about accent.
