Yesterday Thousands of Syrians took to the streets in protest after a Christmas tree was set alight near the city of Hama.

At first I thought thousands of Syrians were protesting Christmas.

It does not surprise me that foreign powers would use the religious diasporas in Syria, to try to destabilise the country.

Diasporas isn't the right word as most if not all of them are native Syrians, but yeah that's exactly what they're doing.
