Can somebody figure out if any of the pieces can escape? Seems to secured properly and at the same time seems like hasn't been secured.
No piece can exit the zoo nor move anywhere they can capture an opposing piece. Some knights and bishops can move to an adjacent enclosure, but have no broader freedom.
There are definitely pieces that can capture each other unless I am even worse at chess than I realized.
Pieces can only capture each other if they have differing colors.

That sure is a handycap when playing chess. ;)
The only sides that comingle are the bishops and you can see that they're on two different colors. Moving only diagonally, they'll never meet nor can they leave that two block entryway.
